101 Reasons to
Adopt a Golden!
reason #46
“I may look goofy, but I'll do anything to be included in your family;s summer fun!"

Don't forget that GRRAND has a convenient “Wish List” of items routinely needed at the kennel that directly help GRRAND dogs and those who care for them.
You can find GRRAND’s wish list on Amazon. It’s simple and easy, and Amazon will send the items right to GRRAND so donors do not have to bring them in or send the supplies themselves. Put your Prime membership to good use and help make a difference for GRRAND dogs awaiting placement in a foster home.
Simply go to Amazon.com and select Lists, then Find a List or Registry. Search for GRRAND to view the wish list of much-needed items. When you are ready to checkout, just select GRRAND’s Gift Registry address to make sure the items are shipped to GRRAND.

Maize and Mickey are currently in the kennel.
Maize and Mickey are a wonderful bonded mother and son pair. They came to GRRAND from a shelter, but after having them for a week, GRRAND volunteers feel that they would be a very nice, easy pair for a family willing to consider two dogs. Maize is 3 years old and Mickey is a year old. They appear to be mostly golden, but are definitely not pure bred. Mickey is very loving toward his mom and she cries when he is taken away from her. They are well mannered dogs and would make wonderful companions for a family willing to give them a chance at continuing their lives together.

Curly is currently in the kennel and is looking for a Foster or Forever home. He is so adorable and incredibly sweet!

Sweet 2 year old lab mix who was found as a stray. He loves going for long walks and playing with other dogs. Ross definitely prefers a home that allows him to take daily naps on the sofa;)

2 year old golden/lab mix who was rescued from an overcrowded shelter. She is a sweetheart and loves to have her ears rubbed!

Mark Your Calendar for the 2018 GRRAND Affair Casino Night

Friday, November 9th at Mellwood Art and Entertainment Center

  • Seeking Event Sponsors and Casino Table Sponsors

GRRAND is seeking GRRAND Affair event sponsors and sponsors for the Casino Night Tables.  The event this year will feature Casino Tables in place of the Live Auction.  We are seeking business/personal sponsorship for each table (Black Jack, Roulette, Craps, and Texas Hold’em).  In addition to the Casino Table sponsors, we are seeking traditional event sponsors from $250 Good Dog Sponsorship to one $10,000 Presenting Sponsor.  You can review the benefits of each sponsorship type and level (including name/logo recognition and tickets to event) and purchase sponsorship at the GRRAND Affair website:

www.bidpal.net/GA2018

  • Seeking Silent Auction Items

GRRAND Affair committee is also seeking donations for silent auction items.  Items that typically set off a bidding war and raise significant funds for GRRAND include rare/unique bourbon or bourbon related items, designer handbags/jewelry, tickets to local events, and sports memorabilia.  If interested in donating to the silent auction, please contact Debra Weissrock at debra.weissrock@att.net.

For additional ideas, concerns, or questions, please do not hesitate to contact the committee chair, Rachel Swope, at rlswope2@gmail.com.

Lawn Care Team (Must be 18+)

Do you like to drive a riding lawn mower and spend time with nature? Then we have an opportunity for you. We could use assistance on the lawn care team at the kennel. You would assist with lawn mowing, trimming and leaf pickup in the fall. You just need the ability to drive and operate a riding lawn mower, trimmer and blower. Each volunteer is assigned a week and it rotates amongst the team. Average time commitment is approximately 3 hours. Normal season for the lawn care team is April – October.

If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out an application online at GRRAND.org.
