Question of the Week * December 11, 2015
Dear --FNAME--,

If you live on the Treasure Coast, we invite you to be with us for our December seminar tomorrow!  See below for all the details.

We still have a few computer specials available.  Scroll below to see what they are. Keep in mind, these are limited quantities as marked and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis!  They would make excellent holiday gifts!

If you're still thinking about upgrading to Windows 10, or if you have and you're struggling, we invite you to watch our four Windows 10 webinars.  You can view them as many times as you want and they are free!  You'll find them listed at the bottom of this page:

Just a reminder:  if you're a Windows Vista user, you really need to think about upgrading.  There are so many limitations with Windows Vista now and the operating system is old enough that you are really losing out on the advantages of a newer, faster computer.

Please consider sharing this email via social media and/or by forwarding in email.  Thanks.

Question of the Week
Question:  "I upgraded my Mac to the El Capitan operating system and my computer isn't running well.  I'd like to go back to the Yosemite OS.  Can I do that?
Question:  "I upgraded my Windows machine to Windows 10.  I liked my old OS better.  Can I revert to my previous version?"
Answer:  As you can see, this week's question is a dual inquiry-one from a Mac user and one from a Windows user.  Although they refer to two different Operating Systems (OS), both customers are asking the same question.

Before you upgrade to a new OS, you should always investigate first.  Find out from knowledgeable people what they have experienced, assuming they've upgraded.  Additionally, you should always check with us before you take the leap.

Had the two customers who asked our questions checked with us first, we would have shared our experiences with them.  For instance, for the Mac, we've found that customers with Mac with less than 8GB of memory (RAM) have had slowness issues after upgrading to El Capitan.  For Windows users, we are asking them to watch our four webinars on Windows 10 before upgrading.  So many questions about Windows 10 are answered there.

Now, to specifically answer these questions:  for Mac users, going back to Yosemite is not an easy task at all.  For most users, you would need to hire us to do the work for you and that would cost between $100 and $125.  If slowness is an issue, if your Mac allows it, you'd be better off to just add more memory.

For Windows users, Microsoft has made going back to the previous OS pretty easy - for the first 30 days.  After that, there's no rolling back.  However, we have had a number of customers who have gone back to the previous OS and wound up with problems.  Downgrading - that's what it's called when you go from a new OS to an older one - carries risks and should never been done without a legitimate reason.

One final thought on this subject: don't downgrade because the new OS it "different."  Newer OSs are always more secure and, in today's world, security is #1 on the list.
