Mission Sites who are Growing Young & Vital: Loving the Land, Healing the Hurt, & Engaging the Stranger.

During our Virtual Synod Assembly 2021 the program team is planning to highlight congregations who are already showing vital signs by loving the land, healing the hurt, and engaging the stranger. We’re looking for congregations doing things both big AND small. For example: A congregation who hangs bags of food on their fence for people experiencing homelessness. This exemplifies a congregation that is healing the hurting and engaging the stranger.

Two pastors are needed for Palm Sunday and 5  are needed for Easter Sunday services at congregations in transition.  If you're willing and able to supply please know that this would in no way obligate you to any future suppling.

Please contact Laurie directly at laurie@nepsynod.org or the office phone: 610-266-5101 ex. 10.

Stress is a pain in the neck: If you’re literally feeling the effects of too many hours staring at a computer screen, sitting in a not-so-ergonomically-correct chair, or carrying a year’s worth of pandemic worries in your shoulders,  Members with ELCA-primary health benefits now have access to SWORD, a virtual therapy program for joint pain available at no out-of-pocket cost. Watch this short video for an introduction, and learn more about SWORD on myPortico .

Get the best rest. Good sleep is as much a factor of whole-person well-being as diet, exercise, and prayer. Check out the small steps you can take to set yourself up for healthy sleep on 2021 Live Well. Focusing on sleep for part of your Lent journey? ELCA-Primary members, both Being and Learn to Live offer more in-depth coaching and tracking that can help you make meaningful, lasting change.

Questions about Taxes? The Richard R. Hammar Clergy Tax Guide and the Federal Reporting Guide for Churches are both available on myPortico at no cost to you.

God's Work Our Hands Sunday!
Save the Date: September 12, 2021

Congregations of the ELCA will come together for “God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday. Our church continues to live through the COVID-19 pandemic. Physical distancing has changed the way we worship and serve. But the need is great, and God’s church is at work. As we gather together in service to our neighbors, we are reminded of one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: All of life in Jesus Christ — every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life — flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.
