Required Background Checks for Staff and Volunteers

Pennsylvania law requires two background clearances (Child Abuse History Clearance Form and Criminal Record Check Form) for all mandated reporters every 60 months (5 years). FBI Fingerprint Record Checks are additionally required for all employees (including rostered leaders) and for any volunteers who have not lived in PA for 10 years. If you obtained your clearances when the law first went into effect, you may need to renew them this fall or next year. Check the "Resources" tab on the synod website for more information.
