Cooler Weather, Warmer Wines

The summer days are waning, the nights a little cooler.

Weeknight dinners of gazpacho and ice cream give way to heartier tomato sauces, braises and burgers.

For some, the change in seasons mean a change in wine preference.

The refreshing, zippy whites of mid-summer take a back seat to juicy, warming and savory reds, perfect for the late summer table; Roasted vegetables with a rustic and charming "rosso di langhe", a blend of nebbiolo, barbera and dolcetto. Beef braised in and served with a brambly, earthy Rioja.  Blistered, garlicky cherry tomato pasta with a spicy Cotes du Rhone. These are just three magical pairings waiting for you to try...

Here are three reds we love, to make these

pairings come to life!

Vinos Terruños "Siete" Rioja
Certified Organic
Fresh, full-bodied and fruity with dark, spicy tones of clove and vanilla aroma. Savory on the palate with great acidity. Perfect for a cut of meat with some nice marbling or with grilled, stuffed eggplant

Cascina Ballarin Langhe "Cino" d.o.c.
blend of nebbiolo, barbera and dolcetto

Alluring aromas of fresh red fruit and flowers jump from the glass! Juicy, rich and savory palate.  An excellent everyday wine, this should be your go to for fresh margherita pizza, roasted summer vegetables, salami and cheeses.

J.L. Chave Selection "Mon Coeur" Cotes-du-Rhone
Organic Grenache & Syrah

16 generations of winemaking in Crozes-Hermitage promise quality and expertise like few others. This wine unfurls a pure beam of crushed plum and black cherry fruit, inlaid gently with singed bay leaf, pepper and anise.  A light smoky edge runs through the finish.  Cotes du Rhone is the ultimate food friendly wine
and this one is simply beautiful...
