Meet the Bishop's Pig
Mitten is the first of what we hope will be many pigs popping up across the Southeastern Iowa Synod between now and the synod assembly in May. These will be pigs with a purpose...to reinforce that ours is an anti-hunger synod and to raise funds to fight hunger.

The Bishop is encouraging groups and individual around the synod to contribute $500 toward anti-hunger efforts between now and the Southeastern Iowa Synod Assembly, May 19-20, 2017. Decorate the pig, display it in your community and help us fight hunger!

To find out more click the button below. Do you want a pig? Contact Coco Lyons, associate for communications at lyons@seiasynod.org. She will help you get connected to your pig.

Congregation Report Forms
2016 Congregation Report Forms were mailed to congregations the week of December 12. We encourage all congregations to file online. Built in calculators make it easier for the person in your congregation who is completing the form, and it saves time for synod and churchwide staff who must enter forms that are hand written. Online forms can be found by clicking the button below. You will need your Congregation ID number and Password (found in the upper corner of the mailed copy). The Synod Center for Ministry has a copy of the passwords if needed. We anticipate that online filing for 2016 will open on January 11. Completed forms must be submitted by February 15, 2017.

ConFEST 2017: Act2Day 4 Tomorrow
A synod-wide event to enhance and support congregation confirmation ministries by exploring churchwide connections, engaging servant learning and creating community.

Act2Day 4 Tomorrow is ELCA World Hunger's event for youth in middle school and high school. Youth will build community with each other, learn more about hunger and ELCA World Hunger, and take time to reflect on how God is calling them to respond to need in their world. Based on Acts 2:42, Act2Day 4 Tomorrow draws on the seven faith practices of the ELCA (pray, study, serve, give, invite, encourage and worship).

REMEMBER IN PRAYER
Just as Jesus' disciples shared their experiences and introduced others to him as the promised Messiah, we pray that we are enthused to go out of our way to share with people our faith and the good news of Jesus Christ.
