Dinner and Dancing at Brook Hollow Winery Saturday January 4, 6PM - 10PM Join our member organization Citizens for Sustainable Development for an evening of dinner and dancing in support of an important cause: a warehouse company wants to turn an agricultural property in Warren County into a mega industrial site!
As the first in a phase, the Jaindl Land Company is proposing to build an 800,000 square foot warehouse on land designated "prime farmland". Prime farmland is considered to have the best combination of physical and chemical characteristics needed to produce crops with the highest yields. This warehouse is just Phase 1 of their plan to build a complex of warehouses, totaling as much as 6.4 million square feet. The proposed warehouse development plans for "prime farmland" adjacent to the Delaware River in Warren County. ![]() The construction of warehouses in rural communities will significantly increase truck traffic on roads not suitable for this use. The onslaught of warehouse proposals in just Warren County is already harming our rural communities' way of life, and poses a significant threat to the environment.
An estimated $50,000 is urgently needed to support the professionals we need to represent us in a possible legal challenge, in engineering, geology, planning and traffic, who will testify before the Planning Board. So please join us for dinner, live music and dancing, a silent auction, and a wine tasting. ![]() The New Jersey Highlands Coalition We represent a diverse network of organizations - small and large, local, regional, statewide and national - and individuals with the common goal to protect, enhance and restore the New Jersey Highlands and to preserve the quality and quantity of drinking water for the 6.2 million people who depend on Highlands water. ![]() |
