Then peace will guide
the planets and love will steer the stars.

- James Rado and Gerome Ragni

Join us for worship this Sunday!
8:45 Contemporary Service
10 Classes for All Ages
11:15 Traditional Service
On this second Sunday of Advent, we remember how God works in the lives of families: John, the child of Zechariah and Elizabeth, has been given a name and mission by the Holy Spirit: to prepare the Lord’s ways and to teach people of God’s salvation and forgiveness of their sins. In the naming of John the Baptist, his mother and father gave witness to the people around them. Advent can also be a time to celebrate families and communities who nurture us to do bold things to spread God’s love and to promote peace and justice.

Won’t you make plans to join our Adult Sunday School journey through Advent as we consider how, why, and where we are sent? We all have a Christmas story.  What's yours?  Drop in to the study anytime in Room 301 during the 10 o'clock Sunday School Hour.
Thank You from Nehemiah Mission.  Last Sunday, we introduced the Nehemiah/Ganta fundraiser.  We’re thankful for your generous donations, which will go directly to Ganta Hospital through Nehemiah Mission and will provide a small gift for hospital staff.  Visit us today in the Parlor between services to learn more. We’ll have a table of baked goods to say "thank you" for your donations!  We're thankful for you! Craig K., Mary K. and Ruth G.

Yuletide Hunger Bike Giveaway.  On December 18 and 19 from 6—8 pm, we’re inviting families from Brecksville’s Yuletide Hunger program to come to the church and select a bike for Christmas. Last year, 27 families came through. This year, we’re looking for folks to make bows for the bikes, to serve cookies and to help welcome our guests.  It will warm your heart! Brookside Food Center Food Tree
Our Christmas Food Tree for Brookside Food Center is located in the lobby, right at the top of the main staircase.  Can you help us fill it with non-perishable foods, personal hygiene items, and cleaning products for our neighbors in need?  We'll be collecting through the whole month of December, with the next delivery to the center being Friday, December 15.
Hat & Mitten Tree
Some trees are filled with ornaments and lights.  This tree is filled with love. This year, we're collecting for the Northeast Ohio Coalition for  the Homeless.  Hang your hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and socks (particularly tube and thermal socks) on the tree, and they will be delivered to those in need this winter.  Want to go further?  Blankets are a big need, especially outdoor blankets with plastic on one side.
The Hat and Mitten tree is located on the main floor of the church, in the Narthex (the area just outside of the church sanctuary.)  This just in!  The students of Hilton Elementary are going our collection and are joining their hat and mitten tree with ours!
Thank you for helping!
Let's go caroling! Join our happy group of carolers as we go out and about in Brecksville to share the spirit of the season.
