Over the course of a 2-day planning session moderated by WFA Hall of Fame member Becky Bailey-Findley, your 2018 WFA Board of Directors met in Sacramento last week to plot the course for the upcoming year. Here are the highlights:

Sarah is Here!

WFA's new Executive Director is with the team in Sacramento and was an instrumental part of the strategic planning process. The Board voiced their enthusiasm in fully supporting Sarah through the transition process.

For your chance to meet Sarah, join us at our Open House June 21 at the San Diego County Fair.
Convention Recap

In conjunction with WFA staff, the Board recapped our 2018 Anaheim Convention - Go West! Thank you to everyone who completed convention surveys, as your suggestions will help shape our Reno Convention January 20-23, 2019.
Looking Ahead

A great deal was discussed during the planning session, including an update to the Association's By-laws and strategies for encouraging member participation throughout the year. As always, we will keep you informed as these plans turn into action.
Already in place is President Conklin's implementation of a new system for selecting committee leadership. Each year, the Association's Vice President will select the Vice Chair for each committee. When the Vice President accepts the mantle of President at our annual convention, so will the Vice Chairs become Committee Chairs. This creates a cycle of leadership that will ensure continuity as more and more of our members get involved in industry leadership.
