FARM TALK
FALCONRY WITH TOM MULHOLLAND
FEBRUARY 17 AT 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

We are excited to welcome back Tom and his birds (a Eastern Red-Tailed Hawk named Shaka Zulu, and a Peregrine-Falcon mix named Houdini) for a fascinating talk about the art of falconry. After the talk (and plenty of time for questions) and weather permitting, we’ll head out to the big field to see the birds in action.
This FREE Farm Talk is appropriate for all ages
(bring the kids!)

Did you ever root pussywillows?
Just leave them in water and let the roots develop!  Pot them up later in spring and you've got a shrub you can plant in the yard!
Mini roses will last much longer than the typical week that cut flowers last, and later,  you can plant them in a container
or in your  garden!

Be on the lookout for more flowering and houseplants in the store. Pansies, violas, primroses and ranunculus will be here before you know it!

Beatriz Pesci da Silva

Beatriz first came to Nantucket in March 2015, transplanted from Brazil. When looking for internships abroad, she wanted to find something geared towards fruit production and the company she applied through recommended Bartlett’s farm. Bea’s first impression of Nantucket is best described in three words: intact, traditional, and preserved. Beginning at Bartlett’s as a Farm grown Intern before becoming Assistant Grower, Bea has fully enjoyed all the things her job and the island has had to offer her. What makes her smile at work is being involved in the entire farm grown process, from transplanting seedlings to packaging fully grown product for customers to purchase. The plant she looks forward to harvesting the most: strawberries! In her free time, she enjoys time spent at the beach with friends, strolling through town, or hunting for new spots to explore on the island.
