Where Are They Now: Paul Miller
You may remember one of our seminary interns, Paul Miller, from his time serving at Advent during 2014-15. We caught up with Paul to see what he is up to now!

Currently, Paul is in his last part of Seminary, serving as a part-time intern at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Ramsey, New Jersey. You can read more about the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer here. He is starting his second year as a second-career pastoral intern and he is very excited. In addition to studying in his faith, Paul has started learning the violin!

In the midst of working toward bigger things, sometimes the simplest moments speak to us the most. For Paul, our Advent community spoke the most to him, literally and figuratively, on a crisp December morning on Broadway: “One of my favorite memories was driving out with Josh to pick up the Christmas trees one year, and then the day after just hanging out on the street talking to folks about Advent and selling trees.”

Paul misses the Advent congregation and says, “Please come on by if you are ever in Bergen County.” Maybe he’ll even play the violin for you!
Summer Suppers Registration
Join us at our last Summer Suppers, this week on Wednesday, August 16!

Be sure to stop by at 4:30pm for Toddler Time and 5:30 pm for the meal. Meet people who you would have otherwise never had the chance, because nothing is cooler than discovering a common interest with someone you've never spoken to before. Talk to someone young or old, joven o veijo. Learn a few words in a different language, or teach someone a few in your language. Come, and enjoy dessert in a community brought together by one God.

You can view the full schedule and register online on our website, or pick up a registration form on the back table in the sanctuary.

Covering the Organ
The scaffolding on Broadway, and the plastic covering the organ are due to construction on The Narragansett, our next door neighbor. They are refurbishing their brickwork, so our organ service company has covered the organ to prevent dust and dirt damaging it while workers walk on our roof and work above it. This has taken place at the Narragansett's expense. Unfortunately, we cannot use the organ while it is covered; we look forward to its sounds enriching our worship again sometime between mid-September and mid-October.
