Celebrating 50 Years of Making Art with Meaning
In 2017 the Art Therapy Studio is celebrating 50 years of "Making Art with Meaning." Because for us and our clients, art making is about self-expression, wellness and self-discovery more than the art itself.

A lot has changed since we were founded in 1967, and we're excited to be honoring our past while looking forward to the next 50 years. We have so much to talk about, so beginning with this issue, we'll be sending you news and information on a monthly rather than quarterly basis this year.

We hope you enjoy getting updates more frequently and celebrating this special anniversary year with us! Also, be on the lookout for additional updates and news about our 50th anniversary and other topics on our website, and Facebook page.
We're now offering a new community class, Art Therapy Thursdays, in partnership with SPACES. The new class, offered at the introductory rate of $5 per session, is held the first Thursday of every month from 6-7:30pm. It's a great opportunity for the community to experience art in a meaningful and purposeful manner. Call our studio to register for the upcoming class on March 2, and read more about the partnership on our website
Scott has been using art therapy for over 20 years to build and maintain positive ways of coping. See how art therapy has impacted Scott and hear it in his own words in a special video feature on our website. Thanks to Joshua Kubicek of Mills James for producing our special 50th anniversary storytelling video series.
In partnership with Cleveland Public Library we are now offering a teen art therapy workshop at the Main Library downtown. The seven-week art therapy group allows teens to explore using art for self-expression and coping with day-to-day challenges. Read more about the program and the upcoming teen art show on our website.
The Art Therapy Studio was honored to be part of the Progressive Insurance 2016 Art of Giving exhibition. Thirty-eight pieces were selected to hang as part of a three-month show at the Progressive Insurance headquarters in Mayfield Village, Ohio. Artworks were available for purchase with proceeds going to the individual artists to assist in their artistic persuit. Read more about the show on our website
