Tech Goes Home Calling Party
Join us at the Tech Goes Home Calling Party! Help Tech Goes Home, a non-profit that focuses on closing the digital divide and teaching basic technology skills, collect valuable data from past program participants. Volunteers will call TGH students, ask a series of pre-written questions, and record their responses in an online form. A script and snacks will be provided!

Cook for the Critically Ill at Community Servings
      Thursday, March 16 | 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM    
Friday, March 17  |  1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Each day Community Servings prepares and packages 1000 meals for men, women, and children who are struggling with acute life threatening illnesses. Join the community servings chefs in the kitchen preparing food for the critically ill. Volunteers will help the staff slice, chop, cook, assemble, and package meals for individuals and families battling HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, or other life-threatening illnesses.

Provide Math and Literacy Support at the Laboure Center
Monday, March 20 | 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM

We are looking for volunteers to provide academic skills support and enrichment to students for after-school tutoring. Volunteers will assist with class activities and homework and model strategies used by successful readers and problem solvers (questioning, accessing prior knowledge, making connections, inferring, predicting, etc.). Local teens serve as tutors throughout the academic year; Boston Cares volunteers will provide additional support allowing for 1:1 engagement with the younger students.

Garden Along the Greenway
Wednesday, March 22 | 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The Rose Kennedy Greenway is a mile-and-a-half of contemporary parks in the heart of Boston. The Greenway, a roof garden atop a highway tunnel, connects people and the city with beauty and fun. Volunteers have a unique opportunity to help with the organic maintenance of this dynamic green space! Working alongside Greenway Horticulture staff, volunteers can learn more about the Greenway and gardening. Projects are based on current park needs and primarily include light duty gardening tasks such as raking, weeding, mulching, pruning, and planting.

ServiceWorks Spring Kick-Off
Saturday, March 25 | 10:00 Am - 2:30 PM

Interested in getting involved with ServiceWorks? ServiceWorks is a national service-based learning program that empowers local 16-24 year olds to build up our communities and shrink the opportunity gap by involving them with service and helping them to design their own projects. We are looking for volunteers to assist us in delivering the 5-module course, help with service projects and act as success coaches for the scholars to set personal and professional goals. Come to the Boston Cares office and get oriented in ServiceWorks with only a 2x per month commitment with our numerous cohorts.
