Two One-Act Romantic Comedies

The McKinney Young Actors Guild presents two one-act romantic comedy plays, "8 Ways for the First Date to Go Completely and Horribly Wrong" by Christina Sexton and "The 9 Worst Breakups of All Time" by Ian McWethy. Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Courtroom Theater. Tickets are $12 general admission with discounts for children/students ages 6-18.

Texas Flood and The Maylee Thomas Band Live at the Sanctuary

The Guitar Sanctuary presents a special double bill with Tommy Katona and Texas Flood and the Maylee Thomas Band. Doors open at 7 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m. at The Sanctuary Music & Events Center. VIP Tables with seating for four are $150 per table. Downstairs seats (first come, first served) are $25. General admission (standing room only on the upstairs balcony) is $10. Food and bar service will be available.

John Heard Astin & John Astin Perkins - Art, Architecture & Design

John Heard Astin, nephew of Kathryn Heard-Craig, was an outstanding artist and illustrator. His cousin, famed Dallas Designer John Astin Perkins had an early career in architecture prior to finding his niche as the "go to" interior designer for wealthy Highland Park and Dallas homeowners. Featured in Architectural Digest, Town & Country, House & Garden, and House Beautiful, his colorful room interiors were coveted by many. Both are highlighted in an exhibit at the Heard-Craig Center for the Arts.

The two February market dates (this week and Feb. 16) will be the final two at the temporary site on Hunt Street between Kentucky and Tennessee. Visit the market merchants at the site on the south side of the John & Judy Gay Memorial Library. After this month's markets, the event moves back to Chestnut Square.

Feathered Friends: 13 Texas Endangered
and Threatened Birds

Opening Tuesday, Feb. 5 thru March 22 
Explore an exhibition that features 13 endangered and threatened birds native to Texas as interpreted by 14 local, award-winning artists. Guests will also learn more about what action is being taken to save our avian neighbors. Included with museum admission.

Dinosaurs Live

Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and nine other life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the nature trails. The exhibit gives families a fun, educational activity to enjoy, and makes for great photos. Become a Master Naturalist
Register thru Feb. 6 | Class Feb. 13-May 8 | $150 course fee
The Blackland Prairie Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist program, based in McKinney, is seeking applicants interested in becoming Texas Master Naturalists; application deadline is Feb. 6. Classes will be held at the Heard Natural Science Museum from February 13—May 8. Class participants must complete 40 hours of natural resource training, participate in three class field trips, and finish eight hours of advanced training and 40 hours of volunteer service within their first year in the program.
