It's official – we're excited about Reno 2017! Are you eager to RECONNECT with fair friends and business partners? Interested in the latest industry trends? Ready to learn the tools and tips to make your company more successful? Do it all in one convenient location with the Western Fairs Convention & Trade Show, Jan. 15-18 in Reno, Nev.

Registration for a full delegate is $295, but we're offering $50 off exclusively for those who sign up through September 30!

Are you a Fair Director or Staff Member only interested in attending part of the event? We have options for you, too! Take advantage of our $200 2-day special.

Hotel rooms at the Grand Sierra Resort are available for RECONNECT Reno 2017! We've been able to secure a great room rate of just $69 per night. The rate is valid for reserved nights beginning Jan. 12 all the way through Jan. 22. Registration for our special room block closes Dec. 28!

It has come to our attention that members are being reached out to by companies to book hotel rooms for Convention. These are a scam and are in no way affiliated with WFA. In order to secure your room through WFA, use the above link.

Ready to Rock?
Visit the Convention Website for more information!

The WFA RECONNECT 2017 Convention Website is up and running with further details on programming and optional ticketed events.

There, you'll learn more information about our great keynotes including Opening Keynote and breakout session leader Jim Knight (left, who brought down the house as our closing keynote last year), and Elisa Hayes, who faced hardship and injury and came back stronger than ever!

Preview programming descriptions on the website. We're bringing back several popular sessions – such as the YPI-presented Generational Differences panel – and new hot-button topics including a whole-room addressing the impact of Marijuana Legalization, a presentation by the Minnesota State Fair on its unique concessions model, and more! Educational topics will speak to a wide range of concerns and interests, applicable to fair management, board members, staff, and service members!

Wine & Cheese, Showcase, Achievement Awards, and More

The Western Fairs Association Convention & Trade Show will provide an opportunity to RECONNECT in Reno, Jan. 15-18. Along with fun activities, stimulating educational programs, and rockin' entertainment, there are several opportunities to get involved:

Wine & Cheese Reception
The popular Wine & Cheese Reception – hosted by WFA Service Members – offers a relaxed networking environment to Reconnect with fair CEOs, fair staff, and business partners. Hosting this event provides the opportunity to pour wine, receive name recognition on wine glasses and aprons, and be featured in Fair Dealer. Click here to learn more about this opportunity.

From videos to full band performances and everything in between, our members have juggled, roped, serenaded and tumbled their way through routines and concerts in front of fair decision-makers throughout the years. The Showcase is always a Convention highlight, and we expect 2017 to be no different. Click here for more information about Showcasing. Video Showcase applications available here.

Achievement Awards
Remember to get documentation together while it’s on the top of your mind if you plan on entering the WFA Achievement Awards program (the pool from which the Merrill Nominations are pulled!). There are Awards in Innovative Management and Marketing & Media - with Feature programs in both. Take special note of our Featured Programs this year – Agricultural Programming, Celebrating Partnership Success, and Fairtime Innovative Marketing Strategy or Concept. Achievement Awards entry information is available on our website under Forms, as well as Awards - or you can click here for a direct link to the entry form.

Blue Ribbon Foundation Auctions
The Blue Ribbon Foundation is critical to the success of Convention, helping to fund the internship program and educational keynotes. The Silent and Live Auctions remain the biggest fundraisers all year. Participate not only by bidding on items, but donate your expertise or goods to help support the cause!
