Learn to Fly Fish (Saturday)
Texas Parks and Wildlife volunteers who are also certified instructors will teach a class on fly fishing at the McKinney Senior Center for ages 16 and up. $1 per person for the 12:30-4:30 p.m. class. 1400 S. College. (Note: Students will not actually be catching fish.)

Story times designed primarily for preschoolers are held Fridays in June and July, 10:30 a.m. Included with admission; free for museum members.​

Hike with Dad (Saturday)
Special family-friendly guided hikes will take place at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Preregistration is required. Register online. Included in general admission; free to Heard members. Please be sure to dress appropriately for the hike and bring water.

Design-a-Dino Coloring Contest (Now through Aug. 5)
The Heard prepares for the Dinosaurs Live! exhibit by inviting children ages 12 and under to submit their own original coloring designs for a chance to have their artwork replicated through a custom paint job on one of this year’s exhibit dinosaurs—the Stegosaurus. Free. 
 
 
 
 
North Texas Butterfly House & Garden (Ongoing)
