Communion Sunday
What is "the bread of life" and how does it draw us into a higher, deeper, more genuine form of human life and health, a life abiding in God, even as God abides in us?  What life we are made for?  What is the life for which we hunger and thirst?  Pastor Clark's message this Sunday is titled "Bread."  Come explore these questions together this Sunday at 8:30 or 10 am.
Sunday's Message: Bread
Sunday's Scriptures: Exodus 16:2-4, 9-15 and John 6:24-35
Sunday's Announcements:  Read them here!
Sunday's Music:  Click here for a playlist of songs for the 10 o'clock service.

It's Communion Sunday
Those who receive communion at Brecksville United Methodist Church have the option of receiving Gluten Free communion wafers, baked using a special recipe that avoids common food allergens. Gluten free communion wafers are making it possible for more of God's faithful to fully participate in Communion. Praise the Lord!

Why Jesus? by William H. Willimon

Adult Youth Ministry Advocates Wanted!
Are you an adult in our congregation who would be willing to help a youth in the case of an emergency? We are looking for phone numbers from our church family to give to our young people to let them know that wherever, whenever, no matter what, they have an adult who is willing to pick them up and help them out of any sticky situation. If you'd be willing to be a resource like this for a youth, email the church office ( before September 3.  Watch for information about the blessing of drivers' licenses on Sept. 16.
WE ARE CALLED TO WORSHIP GOD WITH FULL HEARTS.  Every week, a team of people: pastor, musicians, liturgists, ushers, tech team, and communion stewards, have a direct hand in leading people into a worship experience with the creator of the universe.  Do you want to be a part of that?  Talk with Pastor Clark, sign up in the lobby or call the church office to let us know how you’d like to get involved and what you would like to learn! 440-526-8938 or
We Have T-Shirts!   Help celebrate our bike ministry in style - wear a BUMC Bike Ministry t-shirt! For families living in poverty, dental health is not critical to survival and often falls to the bottom of the list of priorities – if it makes it to the list at all.  Let’s help fill this need by focusing this month’s collection for Brookside Food Center on dental hygiene. If you’re moved to help, bring your donations of toothpaste, tooth brushes and floss to the first floor collection bin by Thursday, Aug. 16.  Thank you!
The bins were emptied this morning, so there's lots of room in them right now for your old newspapers, magazines, and (broken down) cardboard. THANK YOU for supporting hunger ministry by recycling at Brecksville United Methodist Church!
