Quality of Life Plan

The Economic Development & Wellness Committee of the Logan Square Neighborhood Association is developing a Quality of Life Plan.  As part of the plan, the Committee has created a survey for the community to share and gather input about the businesses in the area and surrounding areas. This survey is integral to creating future plans with the Economic Development & Wellness Committee in the creation of quality jobs in the community for the community.  I encourage employers and residents alike to share your input.  If you would like to participate, take a few minutes to fill out this survey.

Back-to-School

The beginning of the school year is coming up quickly.  Did reading that make you nervous?  Don't worry, I have you covered!  My Annual Back-to-School Fair is coming up as well.  Last year, parents and children were able to walk away with almost 1,000 backpacks and just as many smiles, if not more.  Bring your child or children to Haas Park on Saturday, August 18th.  With all the giveaways, services, and games, I promise they will walk away ready and excited for the 1st day of school.

Field House Fundraiser

Help the Maplewood and Lucy Flowers Park Advisory Council reach its goal for funding a new Maplewood Park Field House.  On Saturday, August 11th, they'll be making another push to help reach the goal and you can help.  Reserve a spot and sell your unwanted treasures.  The last day to register for a spot is August 5th.

Are You Recycling Properly?

Look what’s going on in your neighborhood!  Residents of the 1st Ward are recycling more and more each day.  However, only half of our bottles, cans and paper are being recycled.  Most of us mean well, but sometimes items that appear to be recyclable end up contaminating our blue carts.  Let’s change that, starting today.  Help us build a stronger culture of recycling in Chicago by:

  1. Building your knowledge.
  2. Take the quiz.
  3. Going to itsallyou.org and pledging to recycle.

What we do matters.
