Symfony and Symfony Toric IOLs

Matossian Eye Associates is proud to offer the Symfony® and Symfony® Toric advanced technology lenses for cataract surgery.  These Abbott Medical Optics (AMO)-manufactured intraocular lens implants (IOLs) are new to the market as FDA-approved lenses.  Unlike a multifocal, the Symfony® and Symfony® Toric lenses offer extended range of vision including distance, intermediate, and adequate near, mimicking the natural lens more closely.  Colors are vivid due to chromatic aberration correction technology in these IOLs.

Cynthia Matossian, MD, FACS was one of the first surgeons in the area to use a Symfony® and Symfony® Toric lens during cataract surgery at the Doylestown Hospital Surgery Center.  As one of the first surgeons to utilize this advanced-technology lens, nationally-recognized cataract surgeon Dr. Matossian said, “I am very excited to have the availability of this implant to correct distance, intermediate, and some near vision with less glare and halo side effects."

MEA Wins Two Healthcare
& Pharmaceutical Awards

Matossian Eye Associates is a winner of the 2016 Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Awards in both “Best Multi-Speciality Ophthalmology Practice – Pennsylvania” and “Best Multi-Specialty Ophthalmology Practice - New York Metropolitan Area.”

The 2016 Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals Awards recognize the individuals, departments, and organizations, both corporate and public, that actively work throughout the medical industry. These awards are not focused on profits or sales; rather, they seek to showcase the people behind the success stories.

From the opinion leaders and organizations developing new and innovative ideas to save lives and change the way healthcare is delivered to those working behind the scenes to provide exceptional care on a daily basis, the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Awards turn the spotlight on everyone working to support healthcare systems around the globe.

Patients Can Now Submit Their Story

When we restore our patients’ vision, we help them succeed in school, pursue their dream career, and care for their families.

The real-life stories of our patients can more effectively get the message across to others about the importance of regular eye exams by physician-led medical and surgical eye care providers.

Your story can help educate the public about detectable and treatable eye diseases.  You can start today by sharing your story with the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO.)

Click here to tell us a little about yourself, your eye condition, the treatment you received, how it improved your sight, and the impact it had on your life.

A member of the AAO's public relations team will contact you for an interview if your story is chosen for publication.

Thank you in advance for your participation and for supporting our mission of protecting sight and improving lives.

MEA Offers ORA During Cataract Surgery

Matossian Eye Associates is proud to offer Optiwave Refractive Analysis (ORA).  ORA helps improve cataract surgery outcomes by providing an intra-operative precision guidance system for the surgeon through the operating microscope. The ORA improves the alignment of toric implants, with the precision of Limbal Relaxing Incisions (LRIs) for the correction of astigmatism, and for more accurate implant power selection, especially in patients who have had previous LASIK or are near - or far - sighted.

Improved surgical outcomes may help you be less dependent on glasses after your cataract surgery. Please click the image below to watch a short video on ORA.

LipiView® and LipiFlow® for Dry Eye

Matossian Eye Associates offers LipiView® and LipiFlow® treatment as part of our Certified Dry Eye Center of Excellence. Dry eye is an epidemic partly due to our increased reliance on digital technology. Millions suffer stinging/burning eyes, a gritty or scratchy sensation, discomfort in contact lenses, fluctuating vision, light sensitivity, redness, excessive tearing, and a reliance on artificial tears to get through the day. Rapid evaporation of tears is frequently caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD.) Meibomian glands produce oils which are essential to a healthy tear film, by preventing tears from evaporating too quickly.

LipiView® captures images of your meibomian glands in a way that was not possible in the past. Your eye care physician will determine whether you have MGD from these images.

LipiFlow® is the only FDA-cleared thermal pulsation treatment for meibomian gland dysfunction; it is a safe, pain-free, 12 minute in-office procedure. LipiFlow® uses a precise, soothing heat and gentle, pulsating massage to unblock the meibomian glands and improve the health of the ocular surface. We are thrilled to be able to offer our patients who suffer daily with dry eye symptoms this spa-like procedure that gets to the root of their dry eye and offers them much-needed relief.
