Today's temperature:  -1ºC
Tomorrow’s temperature: 0ºC; Sunday: 3ºC
Snowfall in the past 48 hours: 5 cm
Packed base: 4-8  cm
Hours of operation: Monday - Sunday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For some time now, we have become more curators than groomers, preserving and displaying snow from the bygone days, a time long ago when snow fell with regularity rather than scarcity, halcyon days when skier and groomers alike rejoiced in plentiful snowfall. During these recent times of snowflake austerity, we have employed various techniques of snow conservation and protection to enable the skiers to maintain their striding and gliding. This may or may not have involved covertly dipping tines of the grooming implements in our secret groomer’s formula of natural preservatives - mainly hope and desperation, mixed with ingenuity and a large quantity of hard work (no formaldehyde or pseudomonas syringae used here)!

With a blustery delivery on Wednesday, we are pleased to introduce some new exhibits to our “Snow on Ski Trails” display; around 5 cm of fresh snow has been packed and groomed and is now available for your enjoyment. Sunday holds the potential for another augmentation of the snow exposition, albeit with some concerning temperature ranges - we definitely prefer the solid, flake form of precipitation and have thus confirmed our request for snow and cooler weather. Please note that we will be out Friday night renovating and re-setting all the trails to facilitate the weekend action; please refrain from skiing after 5 pm to allow the groomers to work safely and allow the snow time to set-up. Our trails will open at 9:00 am Saturday for all to enjoy.

Our ski instruction programs, with COVID-compliant fun on skis for all ages continues this weekend; please be patient with parking and follow directions from our friendly staff. Our rentals remain open, with equipment available from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm (due back by 3:30 pm); while we are doing our best to serve our ski friends as safely and efficiently as we can, there may be a line-up.

Please ski responsibly, leave your pets at home, and remember that our front gates close at 4:30 p.m.

See you on the trails!
Grooming Report:
5 cm of fresh, windblown snow on Wednesday, packed and groomed. We will be out tonight with a full renovation and reset on the trails - please refrain from skiing after 5 pm to allow the groomers to work safely and allow the snow time to set-up. Tracks should set-up firmer overnight, skate lanes will be groomed again Sunday morning.

Wax Recommendations:

The new snow brings hard kick wax back into the mix, for now... Rising temperatures and the possibility of some moisture-laden precipitation, with the potential for glazing in the tracks means keep the klister tubes at the ready.

Glide: Swix PS8 or HS8
Grip: Swix VG30 base binder (can also use V30 Blue), VR50/V50 Violet covered with VR45/V45 Violet Special for the morning, VR55/V55 Red Special covered with VR50/V50 Violet for the afternoon. If it does glaze up, work with KX40S Violet Silver or K21S Universal Silver klister, cover with VR50
