101 Reasons to
Adopt a Golden!
reason #31
“We are Distinguished & Intelligent even without the Hat! Can't wait to see you at the The GRRAND Affair!"
Don't forget that GRRAND has a convenient “Wish List” of items routinely needed at the kennel that directly help GRRAND dogs and those who care for them.
GRRAND is particularly looking for the grooming items for the new kennel.
You can find GRRAND’s wish list on Amazon. It’s simple and easy, and Amazon will send the items right to GRRAND so donors do not have to bring them in or send the supplies themselves. Put your Prime membership to good use and help make a difference for GRRAND dogs awaiting placement in a foster home.

Simply go to and select Lists, then Find a List or Registry. Search for GRRAND to view the wish list of much-needed items. When you are ready to checkout, just select GRRAND’s Gift Registry address to make sure the items are shipped to GRRAND.
Carmen is looking for a Foster Home!
Please contact Diane
Hi, I’m Carmen. The great folks at GRRAND are just getting to know me. They think I’m approximately two years old. I love other dogs, so maybe a new brother or sister is in my future! I'm very affectionate and I love to cuddle. I love to play and have great temperament, If you are interested in fostering me please contact our foster coordinator Diane Knego at 502-558-6873 or
TC (short for Tough Cookie) came to us from a home of 27 other dogs!! Her owner became overwhelmed trying to care for them, and a kind and caring neighbor helped her to find rescues for all the animals.
TC is ready for a rest from having puppies, having had 4 litters in 5 short years. She is new to her foster home and here is what they have to say:
TC- Or “Cookie” as were calling her is very loving. She can’t wait to see you in the morning! She is very good on a leash. I would say its probably best for her to have a privacy fence or taller fence since she has jumped our chain link fence already. She is super playful with her foster brother, and so good with other dogs. She loves to go outside and watch the squirrels jump from tree to tree… she will sit and look out the door all day. Seems she only knows “lay down”, so I’m sure some training is in her future, but I have a feeling she would excel with no problems. She also loves walks in the creek, sweet potatoes and bananas as treats.
TC is ready for her forever family… if you are interested in meeting her, contact GRRAND asap.

GRRAND is looking for someone to prepare our annual federal and state tax return. If this is your area of expertise, we certainly would appreciate your help! Please contact Wendy Splan, GRRAND's Finance Committee Chair, at

John Smith is coordinating the kennel volunteers and doing an amazing job, keeping GRRAND volunteers organized and making sure that the dogs are getting plenty of attention from them twice daily. We have volunteers going into the kennel in the morning from 7-9am daily and in the evening from 5-7pm daily. GRRAND is looking for some more volunteers to help substitute when needed and perhaps to add a third volunteer shift, midday to let the dogs out and exercise them.

Judy Sisk and Diana Cook are doing a fabulous job bathing and grooming all the incoming dogs prior to their going to foster and adoptive homes.

GRRAND is looking for help with the bathing and Judy and Diana could teach them about the grooming if they are interested.

The 2018 calendars are now available.  Help us spread the word about GRRAND and the great work we do for needy dogs in our community by keeping a calendar at home and work.  Best of all, GRRAND calendars make excellent stocking stuffers and holiday gifts.  Spread joy and help support GRRAND – it’s a win-win for all.  Calendars are just $10, with a small shipping fee if ordered online.
Thanks to our wonderful supporters who bid to feature their GRRAND dogs in the 2018 calendar.  We also want to recognize Beth Andrews Fine Photography for donating services to take the beautiful cover photo of Willow.
Check back with us for an up-to-date list of local businesses that have GRRAND calendars for sale.  They will also be available for purchase at the GRRAND Affair on November 3, 2017.
