Hello Cantabile and Ragazzi Families!
We're really looking forward to this Saturday's performance with at the WYSO Percussion Extravaganza! Ask your singer about the piece we'll be singing--it's a world premiere by WYSO Alum Jon D. Nelson featuring the WYSO percussion ensemble, brass, dancers, and Cantabile/Ragazzi. It's HUGE!
IMPORTANT DETAILS ABOUT SATURDAY
Morning Rehearsal: 8:15-9:30am
Singers should report to Mills Hall at the Humanities Building on the UW-Madison campus by 8:15am. They need their music, but don't need to yet be dressed in their concert clothing.
Afternoon concert: 1:20-approx. 3:15pm
Singers should return to Mills Hall, dressed in their concert wardrobe (tux or black Cantabile dress + hosiery, flat black shoes). We'll watch the first half of the concert from the balcony. Concert begins at 1:30pm, so singers should arrive back by 1:20pm.
We sing at the very end of the concert, which is expected to end by 3:15pm. A reception follows the concert--all are welcome.
PARKING | GETTING THERE | TICKETS
The concert is open to the public and we'd love to see you there. It's really a wonderful concert with a huge variety of music and then our great collaboration to end the afternoon. More information here.
Tickets are available at the door and are $10 adults/$5 youth 18 and under. They are also collecting donations for Ronald McDonald House Charities at the door--see that wish list here.
The Humanities building is on the corner of N. Park and University--across from Chadbourne Hall and just a few blocks from Memorial Union. For the morning rehearsal, those dropping off singers will find the loading dock entrance on N. Park probably the easiest place to drop singers.
There's lots of parking nearby: here's a great guide. Please (especially singers that drive themselves) plan ahead so you're not late.
Let me know if you have other questions or I missed something.
See you Saturday,
