Third Saturday Nature Talks
Saturday | 9:30-10:30 a.m.
These talks are open to the public and are free with paid general admission or Heard Museum Membership. Many of these programs will have an outside component. Please dress appropriately. These talks begin at 9:30 a.m. unless otherwise listed. Check the Heard website for monthly topic.

After Hours: Eclipse Watch
Sunday  | 8-11 p.m. | $16-19
Explore lunar phases and eclipses in the Magic Planet exhibit, then settle down on the lawn to observe the moon’s magical journey through the shadow of the Earth. Bring a picnic, pillows, blankets and camp or lounge chairs. Long-pants and closed-toed shoes recommended. Pre-registration is required. $16 for members, $19 for non-members.

Dinosaurs Live
Til Feb. 18 | Included w/admission
Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and nine other life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the nature trails. The exhibit gives families a fun, educational activity to enjoy together, and makes for great photos. Kids will enjoy the play area dinos as well as the outdoor fossil dig. Some trails in the sanctuary are jogger-stroller friendly. 

Activities included with museum admission: Nature Story Time, Friday, 10:30-11 a.m. 

McKinney Bridal Show
Saturday |10 a.m.-3 p.m. | McKinney Performing Arts Center | $5
From cakes to bridal gowns, calligraphers to venues, visit beautiful Downtown McKinney and find top wedding professionals to make your special day a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Head to the theater level at noon for the fashion show to view bridal gowns, bouquets, and hair and makeup. Also make sure to enter the drawings for a chance to win some fabulous giveaways, including a honeymoon vacation! $5 admission payable at the door.

Third Monday Trade Days

Achieve your New Year’s Resolution to get more exercise by walking the 16 acres of Third Monday Trade Days. Shop for trendy apparel and accessories, indoor and outdoor décor, unique gifts, and yummy goodies at the food trucks. No entry fee. $5 parking on Saturday-Sunday before 3 p.m. Parking free other times.

Pop Up Vintage Market
Thursday-Saturday |1701 N. Waddill
Lady Butterbug Shoppe hosts this upscale quirky retail shoppe featuring vintage and new items arriving each month. The Shoppe, Maude Cottage and the yard are full of home decor, painted furniture, architectural salvage, gifts, vintage, and market items all priced to sell. Plenty of parking. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Lor Clark: The Third Dimension
Friday-Sunday | The Cove, 402 N. Tennessee | Free Exhibit
Lor Clark, age 96, has been creating contemporary sculpture longer than many people have been alive. Once she discovered sculpture many years ago, the two dimensions of painting were not enough. Her inexhaustible joie de vivre consistently manifests itself in her abstract sculptures, thought made real in three dimensions. Friday-Saturday, 5-9 p.m.; Sunday, 2-6 p.m.

Birdwatching 101

Whether you are a beginning birdwatcher or a seasoned birder, you can’t help but learn something new. Find out about beginning birding, how to buy and use binoculars, use bird books, and the best spots to enjoy bird watching. Limited seating.
