Rabbi Stanway at MLK event |
Rabbi Stanway participated in the community-wide service at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Red Bank to commemorate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr on January 15th. The presence of two Jewish clergy along with a dozen or so Christian clergy and a local imam gave voice to ecumenical nature of the gather and an even more clear voice that the divisive state of dialogue present in this country has a powerful witness against it. It was a moving and meaningful event and next year, you are all encouraged to participate.

Welcome Back from Israel, Eliza |
Eliza H., one of our amazing students at Beth Miriam, just came back from Israel on her Birthright Israel-Taglit trip. Her trip was, in the words of her mom, 'Amazing' and then she could not stop talking about it for hours after that. Welcome back, Eliza, and thank you to her mom and dad who acknowledged the role Beth Miriam has had and is having in her Jewish identity.

Welcome Back from Israel, Eliana! |
Welcome back to Eliana S. who just returned from Israel on her Birthright Israel-Taglit trip. Eliana has been sending pictures all throughout her trip and her parents and grandparents have been showing those pictures to everyone they know! Eliana had what she says was a 'beyond amazing time' in Israel and so deeply appreciated the reality of the Land that she learned so much about. Welcome back, Eli!
