Rodgers and Hammerstein’s first collaboration is set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century. It depicts the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys as the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Saturday at 7 p.m. with 2 p.m. matinees both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $25 and available online. At Church Street Auditorium, 306 N. Church Street.

Downtown Sidewalk Sale
Dozens of downtown McKinney merchants are offering special bargains during this Saturday's Sidewalk Sale on the downtown square. The event takes place from 10 a.m.-9 p.m.. For a list of participating stores, check the group's event page on Facebook.

Artists in the North Dallas area show off their work and sell pieces at the brewery. Free admission. Brewery tour every Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and live music from 1-4 p.m. Food trucks onsite. TUPPS Brewery, 721 Anderson. 

LAST Art Gallery
LAST is featuring artist Bradley Donaldson during Second Saturday. Open until 9 p.m. 105 W. Louisiana.

Christina Mitchella & David Mackenzie Exhibits
These two artists are featured at Orisons Art & Framing, 110 E. Louisiana. A meet-the-artist reception will take place Saturday, 7-10 p.m. Wine and small bites will be provided.
Natural Selection Exhibit
Finding beauty in the natural world, Renee F. Wrenwood explores the majesty of mountains, the intricacies of a single flower, and the details and impressions that make life the interesting show that it is.  Renee is an award-winning local artist who loves the surprises that water media present -  the way the paint and water move upon the paper. Exhibit opens Friday, 7-9 p.m.; Saturday, 6-10 p.m. with artist talk at 8 p.m.; by appointment on Sunday. The Cove, 402 N. Tennessee.

The Pairing Series "Hues and Blues"  John Bramblitt + Cast of Blues
(Ongoing thru Aug. 11)
The first exhibit in the Pairing Series, "Hues and Blues" pairs paintings by world renowned blind painter John Bramblitt (shown above right) with The Cast of Blues Exhibit from Midwest Arts Alliance featuring interactive touchable casts by sight impaired sculpturer Sharon McConnell-Dickerson.  9 a.m.-8 p.m.

Native Texas Butterfly House & Garden (Now Open)
Walk among free-flying native butterflies and other pollinators in our Native Texas Butterfly House & Garden, which opens for its summer season on Saturday. This exhibit is open during regular operating hours.

Creating Your Butterfly Nursery (Rescheduled to this Saturday)
Learn how to prepare your “nursery” (garden) for the next generation of beautiful butterflies. We’ll walk you through the basics, including what they will lay eggs on, what the caterpillars need to eat and how to support their parents. May not be suitable for children younger than 10 years. Included with general admission. 10-11 a.m.
