Since Christie appointed the Attorney General and every county prosecutor, the state's entire law enforcement system is tainted with a political conflict of interest.

That means the only way to resolve the issue is by naming a special prosecutor who does not answer to Christie or one of his subordinates.

Christie is due to report for a court hearing in Hackensack to answer a citizen's complaint that he failed to put a stop to the closure of lanes leading up to the George Washington Bridge in 2013. The complaint (read here), brought by retired firefighter William Brennan, alleges Christie failed to order subordinates to re-open the access lanes.
