Bartlett's does some Farm R & D!
While everyone was away for February break, some of the Bartlett's crew were out in the world attending food shows, an agricultural conference, and visiting other farm markets like ours to gain inspiration and find new products for this upcoming season. These opportunities are invaluable to us living on island to get out and see what other farms and community minded folks are doing to connect with their customers and peers.  We gained valuable knowledge and ran into some Bartlett's alumni (Emily from Anythyme Farm and John Albert, a farm employee from last year who will be returning to run the Town Truck!).  We made partnerships, tasted and discovered some great products that we can't wait to share with our customers! Stay tuned for more discoveries and visit the farm for new products coming in the doors in the coming weeks and months!

Chris Brunt- Head Chef
Originally from North Carolina, Chris started with the farm in 2015 as one of our chefs and was promoted to Head Chef in September 2018.  After moving to Nantucket Chris was instantly drawn to the quiet life our small island has to offer. Chris looks most forward to working with the staff to create and “play with food”! When he isn’t busy in the kitchen making his AMAZING BBQ ribs (during football season), fermenting farm grown peppers for his dynamite hot sauces, or creating new menu items for Bartlett's Kitchen, Chris and his wife enjoy relaxing and seeing where they day takes them.  Chris has a bit of a travel bug and he enjoys traveling to new places like England and Portugal and trying new foods.  Although you may not see Chris out on the market floor you, we assure you he is here and busy in the kitchen. Stop by and try his farm made hummus, eggplant parm or shepherd's pie from our grab-and go cooler, you'll be glad you did!

What's Growing on in the Greenhouses?
Lots actually...
The first Tomato hot house has been successfully transplanted and the tomatoes are thriving in their new fiber pots! The glass greenhouse is alive with first and second crops of tomatoes, hydro house starts, begonias, and pansies. Behind the scenes,  Fernanda and Andrew have been busy training their new interns on the ins and outs of watering, planting and greenhouse maintenance.  We are starting to believe that spring is actually right around the corner!

 Afternoon/evening positions available.

Our Garden Center is looking for someone to do some plant stocking and soil loading.  A great job for someone with an interest, but not necessarily experience, working with plants.  Must be able to start by Mid-May.
Dorm housing is a possibility
