Tree Lighting & Asleep at the Wheel Concert
Friday | Starting at 6:15 p.m. | Free
Faces will light up when the city lights the 34-foot Blue Spruce in the center of the square (6:15-6:30 p.m.). Asleep at the Wheel is bringing a country Christmas spirit to downtown McKinney immediately following the tree lighting.

Believe Run 5K/10K/Fun Run
Saturday | 8-11 a.m. | Mitchell Park
This healthy, competitive, and fun holiday weekend event includes 5k, 10k and 1 mile fun run courses as well a free Santa chase for the kids! All proceeds benefit Holy Family School. Register in advance or at the event. 

 
McKinney Repertory Theater Presents A Christmas Carol

Friday-Sunday | McKinney Performing Arts Center | $8-13
The one-hour performance (story by Charles Dickens, adapted by Dr. Andrew Harris) is an annual family tradition. Discover this timeless story in a way that only MRT can tell and make this production a part of your holiday season tradition. Two shows Friday-Saturday, 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.; Sunday, 3 p.m. General admission tickets available online.

Rock 'n Roll Holiday Show

Saturday | 7-10 p.m. | $20
Jon Christopher Davis, Maylee Thomas and Mayor George Fuller and their bands. Craft beer, Smokin’ Chef BBQ, lights show and two killer bands on one stage.

Dinosaurs Live
Heard Natural Science Museum, 1 Nature Place | Thru Feb. 18
Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and nine new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the nature trails. The exhibit always gives families and friends a fun, educational activity to enjoy together, and makes for a fun photo opportunity. See the dinosaurs move and hear them roar! Play area dinosaurs will be available as well. This year's exhibit also features an outdoor fossil dig.The trail is jogging stroller friendly. Note: Dinosaurs cannot be animated when temperatures drop below 35 degrees.  (Photo by Bruce Harrell)
 

Learn How to Bake French Macarons

Attendees will make a batch of French macarons to take home with a recipe card and a Savor tote bag. Call 469-617-7414 or check schedule online.

Toys for Tots & Tour - Franconia Brewing
Saturday | 11 a.m. | 495 McKinney Parkway
Bring a toy and receive a free Franconia glass. Also take the tour for $5 and drink all the beer you want. (Or drop off a new toy any weekday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.)
