“The artist produces for the liberation of his soul. It is his nature to create as it is nature for water to run down the hill.”
- W. Somerset Maugham

Please join us as we recognize the Art League's many talented instructors and the Art League's service to the community at the Instructors' Exhibition Reception and Open House on August 27.  See art in action as the event kicks off at 11am with live art demonstrations in the art studios.  Many thanks to our demonstrating instructors: Jan Guarino, Jill McNamara, Donna Harlow Moraff, Irene Vitale, Anu Annam, Suzan Haeni, Michelle Palatnik, and Christine Tudor.
The Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery will feature a wide range of art mediums created by our instructors, disproving the notion that "those who can't do, teach".  We are proud to have award-winning, well-respected artists on the faculty sharing their talent and knowledge with art students of all ages and ability levels.
The Fall catalog of classes and workshops is now published and ready for your thumbs... or computer mouse if you are using the virtual catalog. After seeing the art demos at the Open House, if you are still curious to learn more about a class and are wondering whether to take the plunge, try out a workshop at our TRY-DAY Fridays.  The next TRY-DAY is September 9.  TYR-DAY workshops offer a three-hour preview of our weekly studio sessions at a nominal price.  Details can be found on the TRY-DAY webpage at http://artleagueli.net/node/1181
The Art League welcomes all members of our Long Island community to engage in the visual arts, through learning, creating, sharing, or appreciating the value of creativity.  Become a member, take a class, visit the gallery, or attend any one of our free events!
