General Conference 2019

News & Updates

As you know, a historic meeting is happening February 23-26 in St. Louis, Missouri. Delegates from all over the world will meet for a special session of General Conference, where decisions will be made that will affect the future of The United Methodist Church.

We understand the anxiety surrounding this conference, especially as it deals with disagreements within our denomination over human sexuality. We want to let you know what we are doing in the Communications Office and keep you up-to-date with everything that is going on.

I would like to invite you, and anyone else in your church, to subscribe to our General Conference News page. Annette Spence and I will be attending General Conference and will be sending regular updates through this page and the website we are currently creating. By signing up, you can stay up-to-date with everything going on as it is happening.

Signing up is easy. Click the "Subscribe Now" button, enter your email address, first and last name, and hit submit. You will begin receiving weekly emails leading up to General Conference and a daily news feed during General Conference.

Please forward this email to anyone who may want this information.

Our first email will be sent out on Wednesday, January 23 and we will be asking you to pray for our Holston Delegates to this General Conference.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Be Hope,

Rev. Dr. Tim Jones

Director of Communications
