Welcome, Supervisor Garzillo!

We are so excited to welcome Tina Garzillo as our newest Supervisor! The Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to appoint Ms. Garzillo to fill the seat previously held by Erika Spott. Ms. Garzillo has been the long-term Chair of the Park and Recreation Board and was one of the original founders of the Upper Merion Farmers Market.

KOPSC Fall Intramural Soccer Registration is Now Open

This is a beginner soccer program for boys and girls ages 5-9. The program focuses on basics and fun! No travel involved. The program begins in September and takes place at Baxter Field. Rambler Service Update

Acme is now a request stop. Please call 610-354-8899 fifteen minutes prior to the "request" time listed. On Saturdays, you must call 610-613-2349 in order to be picked up from any request stop. Rambler schedules can be picked up at the Public Information Office in the township building. 

Yard Waste Collection

Now through October 26

The yard waste collection season will run through Friday, October 26, 2018. Pickup days will vary each week depending on workload and weather. We will make every effort to collect yard waste the same week the request is submitted. Fill out a request for service online or call the Public Works Department at 610-265-8465 before 12:00PM on the Tuesday of the week you wish to have your yard waste picked up. Please follow the collection guidelines.

Neighborhood Meals on Wheels

Neighborhood Meals on Wheels has been delivering nutritious and affordable meals to the homebound of Upper Merion Township, Borough of Bridgeport and Borough of West Conshohocken since 1974. Environmental

Emerald Ash Borer Phase II: Timber Harvest at Heuser Park

The second phase of the township's Emerald Ash Borer Mitigation Plan at Heuser Park has begun. Over the next few weeks, a timber harvest is taking place on the Schuylkill River West Trail. Access to the trail will be restricted during the logging process for safety reasons.

Environmental Advisory Council: Tip of the Week

Organic waste comprises 30 percent of the household trash going into landfills and incinerators, where it has no chance to decompose and offers very little BTU value. Homeowners who compost not only extend the life of our landfills and reduce the cost of collecting household garbage, but also recycle the nutrients in organic waste to create a valuable soil amendment for their gardens. Roadway Restrictions & Alerts

First Avenue Safety Improvements

The First Avenue Road Diet is a safety improvement project for motorists and pedestrians. The project will reduce the 4-lane road to 3 lanes that includes a lane of traffic in each direction, a dedicated center turn lane, and bicycle lanes or a wider shoulder. Construction began Monday, June 25 and is expected to continue throughout the summer. Learn more on the KOP-BID's website.

Line Painting

Our line painters have begun painting stop bars, crosswalks, and arrows, starting on Mall Blvd. Most of the work will be done at traffic signals, and the rest will be on some local roads. Gulph Mills Country Club

Please be aware that the Gulph Mills Country Club, located at 200 Swedeland Road, is hosting a private fireworks display for a wedding on June 30. The fire company will be on standby for safety, and the display will end by 9:15PM.

 

Schuylkill Expressway Safety and Traffic Improvements

This project is the first phase of a long-range, multi-modal transportation plan designed to enhance travel along Interstate 76. PennDOT will install Variable Speed Limit and Queue Warning systems along Interstate 76 from U.S. 1 to just west of U.S. 202 in Philadelphia, Lower Merion and Upper Merion townships and West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County. Construction is expected to begin this summer and be completed in the summer of 2019. Learn more.

 

US 422 E. Ramp to Route 23 Temporarily Closed

The ramp from EB US 422 to Route 23 (Valley Forge Rd) is scheduled to be closed through late summer for construction on a new fly-over ramp. Learn more.
