Brian Ruf presents Dr. Sheila Flanagan with the ttra Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 Marketing Outlook Forum
The award was presented at the 2016 Marketing Outlook Forum award luncheon on October 25, 2016 by Brian Ruf, Past President of ttra and CIO and Owner at Ruf Strategic Solutions. "As a past president of ttra, I understand firsthand that it is people like Sheila who make our efforts and ttra’s mission possible. Sheila is and always has been a dedicated and trustworthy servant with high energy, high involvement, and highly valued contributions." Mr. Ruf continued "Sheila’s commitment to service as well as her leadership, vision, teamwork, dedication, diplomacy, professionalism, unselfishness, and grace are just a few of the wonderful qualities she possesses and that inspire and encourage others to not just be their best but also to give their best. These are highly sought after traits in any organization and are particularly valuable in a largely volunteer-driven organization like ttra."
Dr. Flanagan was named for the award because of her exemplified service, commitment, and dedication in countless ways, not just to ttra, but also to the travel and tourism industry for over 15 years. She previously received the ttra President’s Award for outstanding contribution to the association in June 2013.

She was presented with a copy of a framed original painting of the Skerries harbor produced by Tony Gunning of Blue Sky Art in Dublin. The actual painting will be delivered to her upon her return to Ireland.
