Tell Governor Christie to sign the bill that finally allocate funds for open space

In 2014 New Jersey voters amended the NJ Constitution to dedicate funding for open space, farmland, and historic preservation.

This year, the New Jersey Legislature passed a bill to allocate funding for these programs.

Getting this bill passed has been one of our top priorities, and because of your help, we’ve made great progress.

But the bill still sits on the Governor's desk.

Last year, Governor Christie pocket vetoed a similar bill, even though 65% of New Jersey voters passed the measure. We can convince Governor Christie to change his position with a flood of messages so that he sees the overwhelming majority of New Jerseyans support this law!

We’re joining with conservation and advocacy groups across the state to tell Governor Christie to pick up his pen and stop blocking the will of New Jersey and allocate the voter-approved funds to preserve open spaces. Sign our petition today!

Once this bill becomes law, New Jersey will have dedicated funding to preserve open spaces, parks, farms, and historic areas, and to clean up polluted areas. The bill also guarantees that the funds are not diverted for pet projects or used to plug holes in the state budget.

It’s time for Governor Christie to do the right thing. Nearly two-thirds of New Jersey voters supported open space funding, and the legislature has voted for it twice!

Sign the petition to tell Governor Christie:

It’s time to listen to New Jersey voters who overwhelmingly passed an open space ballot measure in 2014. Sign the bill to allocate open space funding!

Thanks for all that you do to protect our water, air, and open spaces.
