Upcoming Opportunities

Thursday, August 22nd, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Location TBD

If you're looking for an opportunity to evaluate your organization's current messages and work with other organizations to get and give feedback to refine your communications, then you won't want to miss our August LENS meeting on Peer-Guided Message Mapping!

Join Kristan Allen, TMP Director of Marketing and Development, as she facilitates this interactive session designed to help you hone in on your target audiences and update your messaging to really resonate with those you're trying to reach.

During this workshop, you'll work with other organizations through a guided, step-by-step evaluation of target audiences and message review. We’ll require you to do a little bit of homework, but trust us, it'll be worth it!

Take a look below for the full agenda and register now to reserve your spot.  Space is limited!

Workshop Agenda

Section 1: Identifying Audiences
*Homework: We'll share a worksheet that will ask you to list the audiences you're currently targeting with your communications and audiences you’d like to reach that you haven’t yet. You'll need to send this back to us in advance of the workshop!

Section 2: Refining Key Messages
*Homework: We'll ask you to bring a maximum of 4 samples of marketing collateral (brochures, flyers, website copy, other materials currently in use) with you to the meeting to share in small-group breakout sessions.

Section 3: Targeting Messages
We'll work together to take the key learnings from the above two sections and tailor them to create more targeted outreach.

Making the Most of the Mentoring Connector Database
Tuesday, September 17th, 9:30 a.m.
Location TBD
Is your program registered on the Mentoring Connector Database?  The Mentoring Connector is a free national database of mentoring programs. Potential volunteers can use the Mentoring Connector to search for mentoring programs in their area that align with their interests and skills. This provides a great opportunity for your program to have access to potential volunteers that are interested in working specifically with your program!
Join us for our September LENS meeting to learn how to enhance your recruitment efforts through the use of this tool.  Click here to register or for more information.

If you have questions about registering your program for the Mentoring Connector or your current profile, please contact Ashley Wineland at awineland@mentoringpittsburgh.org.

Introduction to TMP Services and Elements of Effective Practice
Wednesday, July 17th, 2-4 p.m.
This informational session is intended to introduce mentoring programs to the technical assistance, training and networking services provided by The Mentoring Partnership. The foundation of our services is based on the six Elements of Effective Practice, a collection of research-informed practices for youth mentoring programs, and you will learn those elements as part of this session. Attending this training is also the first step in the Quality Coaching process. Click here to register.
Are you a youth league, middle school or high school coach? If so, we have a great training that will help you make a deeper impact and build relationships with all of your student-athletes. Contact Sophia Duck at sduck@mentoringpittsburgh.org for details and more information on bringing this training to your team!

Research shows that 1 in 3 young people will grow up without a mentor. TMP is dedicated to helping every young person who wants a mentor to connect with quality mentoring opportunities.  We know that some of our programs have mentees on waiting lists and we want to help close that gap.

Please take a few moments to complete this survey to help us better understand your program's wait list.  Together, we can ensure that every young person has access to caring adults who can share life experiences and help them navigate through challenges!
