The Community Alliance for a Safer Tomorrow (CAST) is holding a free workshop for parents of children in grades K-5. Parents will participate in discussions focused on the reality of how and when kids are introduced to substances, how to have a conversation with young children about loved ones who may be struggling with substance use, and what to do if you become concerned that your child may be experimenting. Love Works and Hope Community Church are once again partnering with the Upper Merion Police Association and Upper Merion Parks and Recreation to bring you the 4th annual FREE Halloween Parade and Trunk or Treat! Bring your BEST costumes and show them off in the parade. A few lucky individuals will win prizes for the best and most creative costumes. There will also be a photo booth, DJ, raffle prizes, inflatables, food trucks, craft stations, and more!

Share the Keys is a safe driving orientation, based on research and data, designed to reduce teen driver crash risks through increased parental involvement. Ensuring that parents and teens fully understand the risks and responsibilities associated with driving is essential to teen driver safety. Teen drivers with supportive parents who closely monitor and set rules are 50% less likely to crash. Register for this workshop by emailing Susan Shelton or calling 610-304-5533.

Historic Tour of Upper Merion

Brewing it Old School - Society Special Program & Fundraiser

Tuesday, October 30 | 6:00PM

 Join the King of Prussia Historical Society for an evening with PA Brewery Historian, Rich Wagner. Rich is a popular lecturer, writer, and demonstrator of old brewing techniques. After a tasting of five different types of beer, dine on a buffet provided by Taphouse 23. Then Rich will bring to life brewing practices from William Penn’s day to our current times. Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard

Are you or someone you know food insufficient? The Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard invites anyone who lives within the bounds of the Upper Merion Area School District to shop two times each month. The UMACC is located in the Valley Forge Presbyterian building (191 Town Center Road, KOP). There is a *REQUEST* Rambler stop nearby at the Valley Forge Shopping Center. If you'd like to be picked up or dropped off at that location, please call 610-354-8899. Yard Waste Collection

Now through October 26

The yard waste collection season will run through Friday, October 26, 2018. Pickup days will vary each week depending on workload and weather. We will make every effort to collect yard waste the same week the request is submitted. Fill out a request for service online or call the Public Works Department at 610-265-8465 before 12:00PM on the Tuesday of the week you wish to have your yard waste picked up. Please follow the collection guidelines.

Neighborhood Meals on Wheels

We are in great need of volunteers on a weekly, monthly or substitute basis in the King of Prussia area. If you would like to help, we would be happy to have you join us to see if this is a volunteer opportunity you would enjoy. We have volunteers that deliver meals weekly, monthly and on a substitute basis. Environmental Advisory Council: Get a FREE Rain Barrel!

Rain barrels can lower your water bill, prevent flooding in your yard, and reduce stormwater runoff from your property. Members of the Environmental Advisory Council will be at the Upper Merion Farmers Market this Saturday to answer questions and give residents a chance to win FREE rain barrels and compost bins! Learn about rain barrels and read other environmental tips provided by the EAC.

Road Resurfacing Program

The 2018 Road Resurfacing Program began on Monday, October 8. The entire program should be completed in three weeks, weather permitting. Roads included in this year’s program are as follows:
