Celebrating National Volunteer Week

One Pizza at a Time

Tuesday, April 9th | 5:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Come celebrate National Volunteer week and support Boston Cares at the Flatbread Company in Davis Square, Somerville! Throughout the evening, $3.50 from every large and $1.75 from every small flatbread that comes out of the ovens will be donated to Boston Cares. Swing by the Boston Cares table to socialize with staff and volunteers or bring friends and families to enjoy an upbeat atmosphere and delicious food.

Judge a Citywide Debate Tournament for High School Students

Friday, March 15

3:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Volunteer judges listen to students, providing vital reinforcement for the notion that students have valuable ideas to contribute to society.  Volunteers are trained at the start of each tournament and students are expected to adapt their arguments to their judges, whether they’ve debated for a decade or never seen a debate in their lives.

Usher at Musica Sacra

Saturday, March 16

6:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Since 1959, Musica Sacra has been performing choral music with the highest standards of musical excellence and a breathtaking sound.
Musica Sacra needs friendly volunteer ushers and ticket-takers for this wonderful concert. Volunteers will have the opportunity to enjoy the concert as well! There is also a reception after the concert so some set up and clean up help will also be needed. If volunteers need to leave early, that can be arranged!

Help Out at the Boston Cares Office

Thursday, March 21

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Come by the Boston Cares office and assist with various office tasks! Volunteers are needed to make new volunteer orientation folders. This is a youth friendly opportunity- all persons under 18 bring a permission form! Help out with this simple but satisfying task!

Garden Along the Greenway

Wednesday, March 20

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The Rose Kennedy Greenway is a mile-and-a-half of contemporary parks in the heart of Boston. Volunteers have a unique opportunity to help with the organic maintenance of this dynamic green space! Working alongside Greenway Horticulture staff, volunteers can learn more about the Greenway and gardening.

Memories With Us!

Every year, Boston Cares volunteers serve thousands of hours helping those in need. Has volunteering had a positive impact on your life? Maybe you've worked with immigrants studying for the citizenship exam or served a meal to someone in need. Maybe you play games with seniors every week or garden on the Greenway during the summer! We want to hear from YOU about a time you saw or felt the impact of your volunteer service!
