Gobble, Gobble!
Koch's Farm in Pennsylvania is a true pioneer when it comes to raising a better bird.  We are thrilled to support a farm family whose care for their animals is the absolute top priority. We hope that you will give these turkeys a try!

Sizes are starting to run out so you know what to do!

Fresh from the Fields
We are thrilled to announce that another 16 acres of Bartlett's farmland is now certified organic, bringing our total organic acreage to 30! Our "flower field" has been in transition since 2014 and will now provide our talented growers and farmers with new opportunities to trial new organic varieties and growing systems! Well done!
Look for hydro Mesclun and Bok Choy until Christmas, as well as organic Baby Kale and Greens Mix. Farmer Andrew seeded more kale than greens mix in the high tunnels, but thinks that the greens should make it at least until Thanksgiving. The farm will also have organic Swiss Chard, Curly Kale, and Toscano Kale until Christmas!
Why Bok Choy?
Our hydroponically grown bok choy thrives in the greenhouse setting and is a
true nutritional powerhouse!
Bok choy ranks sixth on the Aggregate Nutrient Density Index (ANDI) for fruits and vegetables.
It contains a myriad of vital nutrients including folate, which plays a role in the production and repair of DNA, hinting that it might prevent cancer cells from forming due to mutations in the DNA.
Bok choy also contains vitamin C, vitamin A,  potassium, choline,  vitamin E, and beta-carotene among many other immune boosting vitamins and minerals. These nutrients have powerful antioxidant properties that help protect cells against damage by free radicals.
Unlike most other fruits and vegetables, bok choy contains the mineral selenium.  Selenium helps to detoxify some cancer-causing compounds in the body. Selenium also prevents inflammation and decreases tumor growth rates.

So, how can you eat more
bok choy? Try these ideas below!

Shred raw bok choy and toss with other fresh vegetables to make a salad
Add chopped bok choy to hot and sour soup
Stir-fry bok choy with a variety of vegetables, some soy sauce, and sesame oil
Sauté fresh garlic and ginger in olive oil until soft, then add bok choy and continue to sauté until desired tenderness
Mix minced bok choy, mushrooms, chives, and soy sauce to make a homemade dumpling filling
Time to Make Some Pour Decisions!
Reds, reds, reds! Nothing says cozy and civilized like a savory red wine on a chilly night, served with a braise from the oven, a simple salad, crusty bread & butter. Read on for your next red crush!

Mencía (“Men-thee-ah”) is a medium-bodied red wine grape that produces high quality wines with lovely flowery aromas; strawberry, raspberry, black licorice, pomegranate and cherry sauce. Mencía is a great food wine to sip before, during and after dinner. Fans of Pinot Noir would do well to discover these wines.  Our Benaza Mencia is a plush, juicy wine that's chock full of floral and red berry notes, a hint of cocoa and chocolate. The taste is soft and velvety with easy tannins and structure.
Cabernet Franc
Domaine Richou is run by brothers Didier & Damien, whose vineyards are located in the heart of the Anjou region in the Loire Valley. They practice biodynamic farming in the vineyards and craft wines of stunning elegance. Their 4 Chemins (4 paths) Cabernet Franc is young yet silky smooth with savory, bramble notes.

This is full of fresh rich fruit and makes a terrific wine to be paired with bistro-style foods like beef bourguignon, duck confit, roasted squash gratin and aged cheeses.  It is made in tank primarily from Cabernet Franc with a dollop of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Pinot Noir is one of those grapes that can be quite a chameleon from country to country. Darker, more extracted flavors are present in wines from the Americas, whereas Pinot Nero or Blauburgunder as it is know in Italian and German respectively, has a brightness and lifted-ness that is simply irresistible. This one from 300 grower strong Co-op Colterenzio has a fresh, fruity nose reminiscent of red currants and black cherry. Medium-bodied and cool-toned with soft tannins, ripe berry flavors & well integrated acidity. An elegant wine that is a perfect partner to light starters, sausages, roast chicken, Peking duck, bluefish or Seared Tuna.
Gamay has been living under Pinot Noir's shadow for some time now, assumed to be cheap juice that is practically given away around Thanksgiving every year in the form of Beaujolais Nouveau. Thankfully, more and more quality Beaujolais are coming into the market. This Beaujolais-Villages from Lucien Lardy is produced using sustainable farming practices in the vineyard and natural wine principles in the cellar, which is to say minimal intervention in terms of correcting the wines with additives and chemicals. Bright and full with lots of food friendly characteristics, Beaujolais is just right when you need a  food friendly wine for all occasions.
