Animate: Bible Study Begins Wednesday, Feb. 22!
Join Pastor Clark and friends on Wednesdays starting February 22 for a seven week Bible study, Animate:Bible.  This week, we'll look at CANON: Mining for the Word with Eric Elnes.  How did 66 cultural history lessons, collections fo poems, family genograms, allegorical stories, and community letters - all gathered from sources that stretch across time and place- become the Bible? In each session, we will watch a video featuring a leading voice from the Christian faith, spend time on personal reflection and journaling, and share ideas with the group. Reply to this e-mail to reserve your copy of the Animate Bible Journal!  The cost of the journal is $15 (scholarships are available.)
Church Knows Ash Wednesday

Chuck tells you about this important worship service in the Ash Wednesday episode of Chuck Knows Church.  Make plans now to attend our Ash Wednesday Worship Service at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, March 1.

Sunday Education Hour at 10 o'clock this Sunday
For Ages 3 through High School...
Sunday mornings offer options for learning, service and friendship. Our focus is on stories of the Bible and the development of Christian faith. Caring and trained teachers, excellent curriculum, and enrichment activities offer kids and youth the opportunity to learn, grow, and participate in the life of the community.
Adult Option #1:  Ancestors in room 301
Pastor Clark takes us back to basics as we explore characters from the Old Testament.  Meet the most unpolished, unlikely and unexpected personalities chosen by God to do amazing things.
Adult Option #2: Social Principles  in The Chapel
Taking an active stand in society is nothing new for followers of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism.  How do we live out our belief that God’s love for the world is an active and engaged love? Join Kendall Lancaster for a look at United Methodist social principals and what they call us to do.
Stitch'n'Time Knitting Group Meets Tuesday
Come to “Stitch’n’Time” our church’s knitting/crocheting group!
We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the Parlor.  No experience necessary. Everyone is welcome! Projects include prayer shawls and lap blankets, hats and mittens, and baby blankets. Contact Sandy Crist  440.526.1494 for information.
Addiction and Recovery
Heroin and opiate addiction is a serious problem in Cuyahoga County and throughout Ohio. Our church takes addiction seriously and are working to provide education and support to our families and our community. There are resources available on our website.  If you or someone you know needs immediate help, call the ADAMHS Board Hotline at 216-623-6888 or visit www.greaterthanheroin.com.
Thank you for recycling!   Want to recycle shredded paper?  Bring it to the bin in plastic bags! River Valley is able to separate those bags from the paper.   Remember, if it's paper, don't throw it out  - - bring it to the bin! Tell your friends that recycling at Brecksville UMC earns money to fight hunger!  Thank you for recycling!
Our United Methodist Women collect pop tops for Ronald McDonald House Cleveland. Aluminum pull tabs from any container (soda pop, soup, pet food, etc.) are recycled to earn money for a fund which helps support the families that stay at RMH by providing meals and items for families, assistance in emergencies, and giving families special moments – like small gifts for children if they have a birthday while at the House. Want to help? Bring your pull tabs to the collection bin in the first floor coat room!

We affirm that all people are created in the image of God and as beloved children of God, all are worthy of God’s love and grace. We welcome the full inclusion of all people in the life and ministries of Brecksville United Methodist Church as we journey toward reconciliation through Christ.
