Mail Order Requests

Mail orders are for individuals who live in Georgia but cannot make the drive for an appointment because they are more than one hour’s drive away from the Foster Care Support distribution center. Mail orders are filled by volunteers and include a seasonal wardrobe and a few small toys, books, and stuffed animals (or age appropriate teen items). If you need infant equipment, a larger amount of toys, or prefer to come in person to select clothing that will best suit your child's needs, we encourage you to schedule an appointment. Foster Care Support does not offer mail orders for counties in the metro-Atlanta area.

Click here for the Mail Out Request form. Please answer all of the required questions and click "Submit." Please complete a separate mail order form for each child.

After you click "submit," you will receive confirmation letting you know that your request has been received. If you do not receive confirmation, please call us at 404-729-3374 or 770-280-7831.

Next Steps after Requesting an Appointment or Mail Order

Please be patient during high volume times as we process thousands of requests at the beginning of each new season. Once you receive confirmation that your request was received, please:

  • For DFCS Placements: Request the child's caseworker to call the appointment desk to verify current foster care status.
  • For Private Agency Placements: The private agency caseworker will need to complete our agency to agency verification form (can be requested from our office by the agency caseworker). Private agency caseworkers must email the form to appt@fostercares.org at least 24 hours prior to your appointment in order for us to complete the verification process and keep the scheduled appointment.
  • For Grandparents/Relative Care/Kinship Placements: Request the child's caseworker or kinship coordinator to call the appointment desk to verify current relative care status. If you do not have a caseworker, please call us to discuss eligibility.
Appointment Desk Phone: 404-729-3374 or 770-280-7831
If you are coming with other foster parents / caregivers who require a separate appointment, please let us know so we can schedule you at the same time.

Who Qualifies?

Free clothing, toys, and infant equipment are available to foster care children with 'basic care per diem' (up to $30/day) in qualifying DFCS and private agency foster homes, relative care homes, grandparents raising grandchildren (without the biological parent also in the same home), teens who recently aged out of foster care, and foster children in college. Teens aging out of foster care are eligible for two years. Foster Care Support serves all counties in Georgia either by appointment or mail order.

For children in DFCS or private agency foster homes: If termination of parental rights (TPR) has occurred on both biological parents and the child is in their adoptive placement, the child no longer qualifies for Foster Care Support's services from the day TPR occurs regardless of whether adoption papers have been signed.  If the child is being adopted by a grandparent or other relative / fictive kin, the child may continue to receive services from Foster Care Support Foundation.

Children placed with Relative Care/Fictive Kin caregivers are eligible for up to 4 visits (children whose caregiver is 62 or older are not subject to the maximum visits) until they turn 18 and have graduated from High School.

Please Note. . .

Appointments and mail out requests will be provided on a “first requested, first scheduled” basis, unless the child is new to foster care (“new intake”), which we process as a priority. Spring/Summer distributions are available from April through mid-September. Fall/Winter distributions are available from mid-September through March.

Only new intake children are eligible to come during September and March while we transition for the upcoming season. New intake children will receive the ending season's clothing to get them started until the new season is set up. They will be scheduled to return for the new season appointment once it's set up.

Forms with missing information will result in a processing delay. Please help us serve you quickly by filling in all information.

If you have already sent in your request for your foster child for this season, PLEASE DO NOT RESUBMIT unless you have an infant needing the next size clothing or you have received a new child.
