This annual festival provides the most festive way to start your Christmas celebration. This weekend-long festival will go on, rain or shine. Note that some activities might be delayed or cancelled depending on weather severity, but the festival will go on! Check the web link for details on all the new activities including a tractor-pulled carriage, sports corner and new kids activities. (See map below for festival layout.)

Christmas Tree Lighting & Laser Light Show
Friday, November 27: The lights on the community Christmas tree (located on the Kentucky Street side of MPAC) will officially be turned on at 6:15 p.m. when you'll also enjoy a laser light show and candlelight shopping on the square.

"A Christmas Carol"
(All Weekend) The McKinney Repertory Theater presents their annual performance of Dickens' classic Christmas story of love and redemption in the McKinney Performing Arts Center. Matinee and evening performances take place during Home for the Holidays and again later in December.

Book Signing (Saturday)
Meet McKinney-based author Patience Griffin whose fourth book in her Kilts & Quilts series will be released Dec. 1. You can get an early copy at the book signing by being one of the first 20 people to buy one of her other titles then get the new one free! 11 a.m. at Happiness is Quilting.
Enjoy an early morning run or stroll through McKinney's charming historic district doing a 1 Mile, 5K and 10K course. Proceeds benefit Holy family School. The Great Santa Chase takes place before the races and is free for all kids. Check the web link for details on registration
. and packet pick-up for those who've already registered. Races starts around 8 a.m.

Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and eight new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the Heard Museum nature trails. Included in admission to the museum. Heard-Craig House Tours & Kids Activities Tour the gorgeous historic Heard-Craig House (205 W. Hunt) and take the kids to the Carriage House for gingerbread houses, memory sticks, coloring, hot cocoa and Christmas cookies. Tours are Friday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, noon-3 p.m. Kids activities in the Carriage House are Friday and Saturday.

Ornament Decorating Party Girls' Day Out: Make crafts & reindeer food, and writing letters to Santa, playing games, singing Christmas carols, dressing up and having mini-makovers! Girls ages 3-10. 207 N. Kentucky at Made of Sugar & Spice. $30.  2-5 p.m.
