Pastor's Advent Study
Delivering the gift of hope at Christmas. God sent Christ at Christmas. And Christ sends us. Won’t you make plans to join our Adult Sunday School journey through Advent as we consider how, why, and where we are sent? We all have a Christmas story.  What's yours?  Drop in to the study anytime in Room 301 during the 10 o'clock Sunday School Hour.

Are you participating in the Advent Photo-a-Day Challenge with Rethink Church?  Today's word is VOICE.  Post your pictures on social media with #RethinkChurch, or send them to the church office and we'll post them for you.

Yuletide Hunger Bike Giveaway.  On December 18 and 19 from 6—8 pm, we’re inviting families from Brecksville’s Yuletide Hunger program to come to the church and select a bike for Christmas. Last year, 27 families came through. This year, we’re looking for folks to make bows for the bikes, to serve cookies and to help welcome our guests.  It will warm your heart! Contact Jenny Gee 440-526-8938 ext. 230 - or simply reply to this message!

Spread Christmas Cheer...by delivering a Poinsettia!  Take a plant to people who were unable to attend Christmas Eve services or deliver a poinsettia to those working on Christmas Eve (the fire department, the police station, etc.) after the 10 o’clock service.  Deliveries to the home bound can be made December 25, 26 or 27.  Want to help? Reply to this message or call the church office:  440-528-8938.

Brookside Food Center Food Tree
Our Christmas Food Tree for Brookside Food Center is located in the lobby, right at the top of the main staircase.  Can you help us fill it with non-perishable foods, personal hygiene items, and cleaning products for our neighbors in need?  We'll be collecting through the whole month of December, with the next delivery to the center being Friday, December 15.

Hat & Mitten Tree
Our collection of hats, mittens, gloves scarves and socks for  the Northeast Ohio Coalition for  the Homeless is growing.  Claudia brought a bunch of her beautiful knit creations, and Hildegard's lovingly knitted hats are back again this year.   The students of Hilton Elementary are joining their hat and mitten tree with ours this year! Isn't that great?
Hang your donations on the tree (you don't have to make them yourself!) and they will be delivered to those in need this winter.  Want to go further?  Blankets are a big need, especially outdoor blankets with plastic on one side.
The Hat and Mitten tree is located on the main floor of the church, in the Narthex (the area just outside of the church sanctuary.)  Thank you for helping!

Remember to RECYCLE all of your holiday paper this Christmas! Wrapping paper, packaging, boxes, holiday catalogs and cards can all be recycled.  If it's made of paper, don't throw it away.  Bring it to the bin, and we'll earn money for our hunger ministry!

Do you shop at Acme Fresh Market?  Save your receipts!  Our United Methodist Women are participating in the Acme Community Cash Back Program.  Save your register tapes dated August 10 through December 30 and bring them in the labeled box in the coat room and help earn money for UMW Missions!
