Laura Steele, Human Resources Director

Laura Steele is the Human Resources Director at Bartlett’s Farm. How she came to live here on the island full time begins and ends with Bartlett’s Farm, officially starting in her current position in April 2006. In her daily duties, Laura most looks forward to meeting new people  from different places as part of the recruiting process and watching them become successful within the company. Her first island appearance goes back to the age of 5, where she traveled with her older sister and two cousins to spend the first of many summer vacations on Nantucket with her grandparents. Part of her history with the island includes summer jobs with the Chamber of Commerce, Beachside,

Hills of Nantucket, and Golden Nugget. Outside of the business, if you don’t see her on the beach with her family, then she’s most likely traveling with them on a new adventure.

Her personality is best described as the outgoing joiner with a try-it attitude who believes you are responsible for your own good time. She enjoys trying new things and including the whole family along the way.

Did you know!?
Dharma Yoga operates out of the
Hayloft everyday all Winter

If you are new to the practice of yoga, Joann's beginners classes are perfect for first-timers. Her intuitive instruction and attention to each person's needs are truly the focus.  It feels as much like physical therapy as it does a yoga class in that the focus is on the quality of the positions, not how far you can stretch or how quickly you can move.  There is no competition here, as everyone learns the importance of "why"  along with the "how".  Other popular classes available include Hatha Yoga with Sheri Perelman and the much anticipated weekend Restorative classes and workshops.
