We're Not Being Rude...

We know of no one at the temple who has the coronavirus. I would like to try to help ensure that we do our part to keep each other healthy.

The coronavirus is a highly contagious virus spread through coughs and sneezes.  However, public health professionals also tell us that if the virus can still be spread by person-to-person contact.  So we are asking that, when you come into the temple, you shpritz a litte Purell on your hand. There are bottles all over the temple and in the bathrooms.  Shpritz when you come and when you leave.  As well, I am asking that we refrain from hugs and handshakes for the time being.  (I have found elbow bumps to be a good subsititue!)

Soon, we all pray, this viral infection will end and those who are ill with it will soon heal.  But, in the meantime, if you have any symptoms of the flu, please stay home and get well and, even if you don't let's take precautions about washing hands and reducing person-to-person contact.

Welcome George Korbelak, our new TBM Administrator
After a thorough search, the Administrator Search Committee is thrilled to announce that they have successfully engaged George Korbelak as our new temple administrator.  George has extensive experience in business and as a synagogue administratore.  He lives in Farmingdale with this wife, Dawn, of 22 years and they have 4 children and (almost) 6 grandchildren.  He is a deacon at St. Peter’s parish in Pt. Pleasant Beach.
George will be a very visible presence at the temple as he will be there 4 days a week as well as Sunday mornings.  The temple office will be open for any needs you have on the several Sundays a month George is present.  Come in and introduce yourself to the newest member of the Beth Miriam staff and Beth Miriam family.

Yahrtzeit Plaque News

In a congregation with as much history as Beth Miriam, it is inevitable that we begin to run out of space on the Yahrtzeit boards.  Over the years many families have placed ‘Reserved’ plaques for themselves.  The problem is that no one knows who they are reserved for or even who reserved them.  Therefore, we are asking that, if you have a reserved plaque, you let the temple know at 732-222-3754 (if you know where the plaque is) or come in to show us.  This way, we can make a record so that, when the time comes, we know exactly where the plaque with a family name should be placed.  If we don’t hear from the family, we will have to open that space up so that there is space on the board.  Please get in touch with the temple before June 1st, 2020.  Thank you for your help.
