Market Notes

Feeder price movements were mixed last week in Mississippi depending on weight. Light weight calves were three to six percent lower than the previous week while heavier feeders were up three to five percent on average. Futures prices fell sharply to start the week as a reaction to the cattle on feed report but rebounded slightly to finish the week. Cattle prices remain relatively strong given the time of year - especially when compared to last Fall when feeder prices were 20 percent lower.
