Do you need to finish some last-minute holiday shopping? Or just getting started? Don’t miss Third Monday Trade Days, Santa’s favorite place to shop for things you can’t find anywhere else. Discover a great gift for everyone on your list at the 750 indoor and outdoor booths. The market is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free; parking is $5 before 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. 4561 W. University/380 just two miles west of Central Expressway.

 
 
 
 
 
Events at the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary,

(Friday-Saturday) Bundle up and experience Holidays at the Heard, the most unique holiday event in North Texas. Holidays at the Heard brings the beauty of the holiday season into nature. Guests will see lights and holiday décor along a half mile Heard nature trail. Hot beverages and treats will be available for purchase. Family-friendly entertainment will complement the holiday atmosphere. 6:30-9 p.m. Tickets available at the door - $9 for adults & seniors, $5 for kids 3-12, children 2 and under free. (Tickets purchased for last weekend's Holidays event that was cancelled will be honored this weekend.)

Dinosaurs Live! (Shown)
(Open thru Feb. 21) Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and eight new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the Heard Museum nature trails. Included in admission to the museum. Also on the sanctuary grounds: picnic area, pioneer village and Animals of the World Exhibit; more exhibits indoors.

Winter Tree Identification and Ecology of the Heard (Saturday): Tour led by David Powell, Blackland Prairie Master Naturalist Participants in this tour will explore the more unknown areas of the Heard’s wildlife sanctuary and see some unusually large trees in the lowland areas. Occasional sightings of wildlife of the area may occur as well. 9:30-10:30 a.m. 
 
 
 
 
 
Basic Wire Wrap Bracelet (Friday)
Learn the technique for making basic wire loops and basic wire wrapped stones, then wear your finished piece home. Class at Art on the Veranda, 105 W. Louisiana from 1-3 p.m. Class fee of $95 includes supplies. Call 469-406-7704 to reserve your spot in the class.
 
 
 
 
 
(Thru Dec. 30) Explore a vintage showcase of artifacts from Christmases past. For a list of exhibits, visit the CCHS website. Also, kids can drop letters to Santa in the North Pole Express delivery box at this historic post office. 300 E. Virginia. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
