United, Delta, and American have permanently removed their change fees for most domestic travel. This means that there will not be a charge to change your flight on most domestic flights. As the pandemic began, airlines began to waive change fees for travel, now some airlines have decided to permanently remove the change fees. MG&E and Dane County Solar Farm
Have you noticed the solar farm along Hwy 51 next to the airport? The 9-megawatt solar farm being installed on the north end of the airfield is almost complete! This solar farm will house nearly 31,000 solar panels across 58 acres of County-owned land. This will be the largest solar farm in Dane County and it will have the ability to power 40% of the energy used by all County-owned facilities! Read more about this project here!

We've been hard at work this year to upgrade some of our facilities and are happy to show off our beautiful new bathrooms! Enjoy the sleek modern design. Need a charge on your electric vehicle? We have you covered! Not only do we have electric vehicle charging stations in our parking ramp for when you are on your journey, but we have a new DC fast charging station in the cell phone lot! The new exhibit is titled Robert Cottingham: An American Alphabet. It's a series of 26 framed artworks that were published by Tandem Press between 1997-2001. Each artwork in the series features a letter of the alphabet. For Cottingham, An American Alphabet is a cultural and historical document, something that captures a part of the man-made environment. This Halloween we were able to brighten our spirits by dressing up and sticking to our Wisconsin roots! We had a Barnyard Bash in the airport admin office, accompanied by our 'Farmer Dan' and farm animals. And no, pitch forks are not allowed through TSA... Study Shows COVID Risk on Aircraft is Very Low
A study from the Department of Defense and United Airlines shows promising news for the aviation industry. This study showed that the risk of getting COVID-19 on an aircraft was almost non-existent. This is because of the super effective filtration systems on aircrafts, mask requirements, and thorough cleaning of aircrafts. The entire aviation industry is working hard to keep all passengers safe, and this study helps confirm that it is safe to travel by air. You can read more about this study here. ![]()
REAL ID Update
Due to the pandemic, the TSA has extended the REAL ID requirement date by an entire year. The new deadline is October 1, 2021. We encourage you to still complete this requirement as soon as possible! One form of the REAL ID is a state driver's license with a star in the top right corner. You can read more about the REAL ID and other forms of acceptable ID here. ![]()
Local Health Requirements
The State of Wisconsin and Public Health Madison & Dane County continue to require masks to be worn in most public settings. This includes inside public buildings, healthcare settings, waiting in line outside a building, inside public transportation, etc. This also includes the airport terminal, so please wear a mask when in our airport. If you need a mask, free masks can be found inside doors 1 & 4. ![]()
