 Registration for the 2017-2018 school year is open.    Stop by the membership desk to pick up the Parent  packet and registration form.  If you register by July  31st, there will be NO REGISTRATION FEE.

LATE SUMMER WEEKLY SWIM LESSONS-  There are still spots OPEN for weekly swim lessons. These 8 week classes begin the week of August 14th and go until October 2nd. Stop by the membership desk to register.

SUMMER POOL SCHEDULES AVAILABLE - The pool schedules for both the warm and cool water pools will be active through August 26th. Be sure to check at the Membership Desk for your copy or download here! Remember to utilize the mobile app for up-to-date schedules. Please view the new swimming pool policies to ensure your safety. 

SUMMER DAY CAMP - The summer campers will be in the pool daily from 2:30pm-3:30pm in the cool and warm water pools.

SWIM LESSONS -  Day classes are from 11:00-12:00PM during the week in the cool water pool.  There will be 2 lap lanes available for swimming during this time.

HIRING LIFEGUARDS- Contact Cindy Drob if interested in becoming a YMCA lifeguard.  Discounts available on certification with employment agreement.

OAKBORO STEM SCHOOL-  We are exploring the need for an afterschool program located at Oakboro School.  Full-time and part-time options are available.  We will be open until 6:00 pm Monday-Friday.  In order to open, we must have a minimum of 12 students.  Contact the Y by July 31 to register.

WANTED!! PROFESSIONAL ROLE MODELS-  We are currently hiring energetic, creative, caring, professional individuals to work with our elementary-age afterschool students.  Applicants must be 21 years old to apply for a site director position and 16 years old to apply for a counselor position.  Please apply before July 31st. Applications are available at the membership desk or on the website.

SUMMER DAY CAMP - Only a few weeks left but we still have spots open!  Full Time and Part Time available. $50 registration fee due at the time of registration. Read all about the wonderful opportunities your child can experience this summer at camp. Parent packets and registration form are available at the membership desk.

MINNIE'S PLACE AND HIGH 5 -  We strive to provide a secure, nurturing, comfortable, and attractive environment for MEMBERS' children to play while parents enjoy their time at the Y.  FREE of charge, Minnie's Place and High 5 are a benefit to your membership. To ensure each child's safety while in our care, we require parents to make advanced reservations. You can contact the Membership Desk at (704)982-1916 to secure your child's spot. Children can stay in Minnie's Place or High 5 up to two hours each day. Please review the policies for Minnie's Place/High 5 and contact Stephanie Campbell with any questions.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES AT THE Y - Looking for somewhere to host a birthday party for your child? The Y currently offers six options for birthday parties. Dates in January are booking up. Check out our party options and contact Kelley Bigger to book yours!

We only have about one month left to complete the 40 day fitness challenge.  Our windows are getting colorful with all of the names posted.  Remember, all members that complete the 40 day fitness challenge, will receive a FREE t-shirt and have their name in a drawing for the grand prize of a FREE 3 month membership.

YOUTH FITNESS ORIENTATION - Teens ages 11-15 must complete a fitness orientation with parent supervision.  You can contact the front desk at 704-982-1916 to make a reservation with a fitness staff.  The fitness staff will review the rules and policies, demonstrate proper equipment usage and answer any questions.

FITNESS DEPARTMENT MESSAGES .....Stay on top of group exercise schedule changes and closures.  Text @ymcafi to 704-781-1231 to receive text notifications about class changes.

TOWEL SERVICE- As a service to you, we have towels available for adult members to use for pool and showers.  We ask that each adult use no more than 2 towels per visit.  This allows us to accommodate the large amount of members that are in our facility daily. 

2017 PROGRAM GUIDE is now available!  

GUEST PASSES- Each Adult member will receive one guest pass per month. Each guest must complete a guest waiver, provide picture ID and accompany the member at all times.  Teens, ages 16 and older, may also receive one guest pass per month for guests ages 16 and older, with proper ID.  Guests may only come 3 times in one year as a guest.

ADULT LOCKER ROOMS - The downstairs Adult locker rooms are available for Adults, age 18 and older. Children and teens under 18 years of age are not allowed in this area.  There are two other sets of locker rooms in the facility that will accommodate members under the age of 18.  Stop by the membership desk, or ask a Y staff, if you have any questions on where to go.

REFER-A-FRIEND PROGRAM - Summer is the perfect time to invite a friend to the Y.  If they join and list you as the referring member, you have a chance to earn a FREE month of membership. Stop by the membership desk to ask how you can earn your FREE month of membership.

TWO STATES ... ONE YMCA - Traveling in VA and NC and need to use another YMCA while out of town? No problem ... YMCAs across NC and Virginia (and Upper Palmetto, SC) recognize the new and exciting Reciprocity Program. Just show your YMCA Membership Card and you will be granted access to the YMCA while you are visiting.  * Silver Sneakers and Silver & Fit do not qualify for this benefit.

T-BALL REGISTRATION-Registration for ages 3-5 T-Ball is open now through August 12th. You can register online or at the front desk.
