Thank you! We thrive on your support!
Intentional skateboarder

Family is what drives Josh LaVille, but the cogs in his head are powered by art, music and creativity. “Music is great because it uses so many different parts of your brain at once,” he says. “It’s physical, it’s artistic, it’s mental. You’re doing math and keeping time —all these things at once. It’s kind of like I find in skateboarding: It occupies so many parts of my brain that I can finally quit thinking about other things.” Meet Josh LaVille, our new assistant manager at the Washington County ReStore.

Homewood Suites

Following a recent remodel, Homewood Suites donated 55  tables and 75 terrific chairs. The first delivery went to our Washington County ReStore in October. We are expecting our second load this week. You'll want to see these striking pieces. Some of the tables are for two - great for those smaller spaces. But all of them are classically designed and would be super nice additions for your home, especially with company coming! Thanks, Homewood Suites!
We're ready for rain
United Fire

Winter is coming! But there's no fear here,  thanks to a timely donation from business partner United Fire. They packed up two pallets of safety gloves, rainwear, Tyvek coveralls, boots, hard hats and other safety rain gear that will be delivered to the Washington County and Clark County ReStores this week. Take no risks...get  there today for the best selection. United Fire also donated a 12-foot box truck, so we want to give them an extra big THANKS!

You're going to love this project: A DIY catio using materials from The ReStore for under $50!

Built for our VegFest booth by Mark Haley, our business relations director, this cool catio will be making the rounds at our four ReStores later this month. See it now at the Gresham ReStore and then at the International Cat Show Nov. 11-12. Want to make your own? Check out Mark's
instructions and notes. If you build one, we'd love to see photos! Email to: mcerna@pdxrestore.org.

Plans are being made to hold DIY workshops at all of our locations. Look for topics such as building your own chop saw bench and  tiling a kitchen backsplash. Instructor Mike Jamison will share shortcuts, methods, building and safety tips, along with "many amusing stories of things that went awry."

We will announce the schedule on pdxrestore.org, Facebook and in upcoming newsletters.
Need a job?
Come work for the Habitat ReStore!

Even with two jobs, rent increases kept Lizet and her two daughters, Daphne and Sharon, on the move from one apartment to the next. It was a real struggle for the single mom. In 2015 Lizet helped a friend complete her Habitat sweat equity hours. The experience inspired Lizet to enroll in the homeownership program herself. This month their dream of having a stable and affordable home came true. Want to guess how? WATCH THIS VIDEO

The Annual Women Build Tea and Auction will be held 1 to 3 pm Saturday, December 2 at the Heathman Lodge in Vancouver.
