Planning Your Year

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” ― Benjamin Franklin

The New Year is a good time to set goals. Therefore, the goal of this article is to remind you of the importance of planning and to motivate you to take action.

Set both long-term and short-term goals. Think of big or long-term goals as plans and short-term goals as tasks. Break each goal into a series of tasks. If the goal is to get five new clients, write down your short-term steps:

1. Identify the area where you'd like to book more work.
2. Create a potential new client list.
3. Establish a marketing plan.
4. Execute the marketing plan.
5. Follow up with potential clients on a regular basis. (eg. phone or email once a month; mail a postcard four times a year; twitter, blog, LinkedIn, Instagram, or Facebook every two to six weeks, etc.)
6. Land job with new client!

In other words, start with the desired end result and work backwards. In a top-down method, small goals (tasks) are in alignment with the bigger goal. As small goals are ticked off the list, confidence increases as the long-term goal is achieved. Moving forward in the direction of your big goals means you won't become disheartened. You'll look and sound like a winner. So while it's important to set goals for the decade, year, and quarter, don't overlook setting goals for each week and each day.

“A clear vision, backed by definite plans, gives you a tremendous feeling of confidence and personal power.” ― Brian Tracy.

Casting Database

Since it's inception in 2006 over 200 local producers have used the database to cast jobs. Projects for companies like Facebook, CBS, SF Giants, Osmo, Twitter, Monster Cable, Paypal, Luminosity, Creativity Inc, Safeway, Leapfrog, Atomic Productions, KCSM, and Antenna Audio.

One-time setup is $50 then it's just an additional $10/month for first year. A flat rate of $60/year thereafter.

In December 2017 we helped to cast a job that will pay at least $15,000. Plus, 20 fortunate actors were paid $100 each just to audition for it! That covered their database membership for almost two years.
