43rd Annual Holiday Tour of Homes (Saturday-Sunday)
In 1973, five families opened their homes for the very first Holiday Tour of Homes, benefiting the Heritage Guild of Collin County. This year, the Heritage Guild celebrates the 43rd edition of this wonderful tradition with five beautiful historic residences as well as the Collin
County Historical Society Museum and Chestnut Square's Dulaney Cottage, Wilmeth Schoolhouse, and the Chapel at Chestnut Square. Make a day of it with a tea luncheon in the Bevel House and shop the craft bazaar in the Johnson House. All tours start at Chestnut Square, 315 S. Chestnut, which is also the location for ticket purchase and online order pick-up. $18 in advance for members; $20 in advance for general public.

Santa on the Square (Thru Dec. 17)
Experience true Christmas magic as your child steps into the “tiny house” workshop of Santa himself on the historic square. Your booking includes two copies of a 4 x 6 in. photo in a keepsake folder and a visit with Santa. (Additional sizes are available on site.) All proceeds benefit Volunteer McKinney, a local nonprofit that inspires people to volunteer. Schedule visits online.

The Jive Aces combine fresh arrangements of swing / Jive /R&B classics-songs made famous by such greats as Louis Prima, Cab Calloway, Bobby Darin, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin, Big Joe Turner and Sammy Davis Jr.-along with a selection of superb swinging originals taken from their studio albums. $38 adults, $33 seniors, $28 students & kids. Reserved seating. 8-10 p.m. 

Polar Express Pajama Party (Thursday)
Enjoy a movie and visit with Santa. Your visit includes the Premium Visit with Santa Package (a photo and keepsake frame, too) as well as the movie "The Polar Express," games, sandwiches, hot cocoa, crafts and cookie decorating. Maribeth Jagger - Artist
Inked! Exhibit of original alcohol ink paintings by Maribeth Jagger will be open Friday, 5-9 p.m.; Saturday, 3-9 p.m.; and Sunday, 2-6 p.m. Drop by to meet the artist, see these vibrant works of art and enjoy sips and bites!

Classic Meets Contemporary Guitar Concert: Join us for an evening celebrating the wonderful music of the guitar, Guitarists Carlo Pezzimenti and John Wynn will perform music from several genres on both nylon and steel string instruments in the intimate setting of a house concert. Dinosaurs Live (shown, thru Feb. 19) They're back! Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and some of his life-size animatronic dinosaur friends along the Heard's nature trails.Tues.-Sat., 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., 1-5 p.m. 

Nature Story Time (Friday)
Story times are designed primarily for young children and will introduce a different nature-themed book each week. During some story times, a puppet, live animal or enrichment items are used to enhance the experience. 30-45 minutes depending on the book covered. Included in general admission and free for Heard Museum Members. 10:30 a.m.

Ropes Course Adventure Day (Sunday)
Guests will be able to participate in the Power Pole, Giant's Ladder,
and the Bessie Climbing Tree. Individuals and small groups (nine or less persons) are welcome to participate in pre-scheduled Adventure Days. Reservations required. $35 per person. 1-4 p.m.

Farm-to-Table Dinner (Wed., Dec. 14) - Celebrate Christmas with the Mitas Family for a night of delicious food and wine at a four-course chef-created dinner featuring Mitas Hill Vineyard Texas reds, white, and sweet wines. Advance reservations and payment required. 
Wine Glass Painting Class (Thurs., Dec. 15) - Hand paint a design on a wine glass guided by an instructor from Le Painted Grape. All painting supplies are included for $30.
